. . . I am left somewhat overwhelmed.
I’m going to break protocol with an increasingly secular UK market and give thanks first to God.
It is He that has enabled this journey called Life, has moved people and situations into my path, and has endowed me with the faith to develop whatever talents and gifts I have to offer. As I look back calmly over the peaks and valleys of my life, I can only describe the whole process as a miracle.
Next, Wendy, my wife. What can I say that is sufficient about My Eternal Companion, guide, guardian angel and helpmeet? She who has endured my moods, strengthened me and hauled me through moments of doubt; providing me with an abundance of common sense and insight into what works and what doesn’t …and love. She is the heroine depicted in this novel, and I consider myself fortunate to be surrounded by women as gifted as she is.
I owe such a debt of gratitude to our dear friends David and Lesley Bridgstock, whose family is the model for this novel. They allowed me to traipse around their home and grounds for hours, doing research for many of the scenes. Their children and grandchildren shaped much of the conversations and ideas that lead the hero along his path.
