The epistemic Eurocentric boarders, expand towards the global south, they dehumanise and obliterate existing forms of thinking through colonialism and coloniality. In doing so, the global south has lost the sense of being self, Africans have become non-thinking objects. This has led to a series of ceaseless conflicts, poor leadership, and developmental crisis and provides fertile ground for Eurocentric superiority. This book Phenomenology of Decolonizing the University: Essays in the Contemporary Thoughts of Afrikology is a diagnosis of the problems of the mind in the global south and provides solutions in the decolonisatiom of the mind such as humanising the university, the rewriting of African stories and facilitates an epistemic rebellion.

False lies perpetuated in classrooms and lecture rooms, to make me feel insignificant and worthless. Told that my story begins and ends with your supreme nature, told that being dark skinned is a tyranny, an umbilical cord waiting to be cut and destroyed- are the physical ropes and chains you tied my ancestors with. Preface he idea of decolonization remains a complex theory, with so much confusion and misunderstandings, Thowever are still using the same Eurocentric various scholars claim to be fanatics of this theory methodology in analysis. Of course it is quite impressive to have numerous stand points and debates, as to tests, experiment this theory in social laboratory. The constructive criticism helps to refine understanding of the epistemic freedom theory, however it is a pity to see academias even criticizing this theory, planning academic conspiracy and assassinations, to African scholars who are still hanging on colonial apology stand point, they don’t realize their fierce critic to decolonial thought is not ‘homicide’ but ‘suicide’ which means there are killing themselves and thus performs menticide. The dawn of new horizon in African public space, is critically informed by the shift of images, dreams and visions towards African Renaissance. The continent is performing badly, there’s ceaseless wars, serious abject poverty and political instability, these catastrophes are owed to the idea of ‘coloniality’ hence to move forward, and unleash us from the chains of epistemic slavery there’s need to decolonize academic spaces. The diagnosis of this problem, provides a hilarious moments to the African political physician, who now have a solution. The previous generation spend years of researches, but the current definition of African scholars finds the cure of African problems. The cure is movement towards epistemic freedom. This book is written in decolonial humanities and social science format, but it doesn’t necessarily mean it belongs to those

disciplines, it is a political-revolutionary book worth to be read by every person who has the interest in dismantling Eurocentric canon of thoughts. It contains intellectual jargons, from human science disciplines, the thrust is to locate itself to the intellectual society since these are most victimized groups, detached from their roots. The discipline is now long overdue as academic discourse, but it’s now time to claim political landscape to grow the idea in every individual in Africa, and the global south. The idea might take long, since we need to dismantle the existing world view which is nearly seven centuries old, hence to re-establish and develop the epistemic project-it might be a piecemeal movement or even radical but towards the goal of freeing our minds. Decolonizing the university, means more than to narrowly focus on Africanizing the university, it also aims to free Europeans from the mental delusion of African images constructed by their forefathers. The issue of polycentric template of epistemologies cultivates the humanistic legacies within the perspectives of decoloniality. Zvikomborero Kapuya
