Description

Ours is a world that is constituted and reinvented through the personal and shared stories we tell. In the spirit and understanding that each and every one of us, however big or small, has a story to tell, I am pleased to share with you this modest account of myself, who rose from very humble beginnings into community stewardship. It is only one story from one vantage point, which I hope will contribute to the dynamism and quest for recreation in eternity that makes our world what it is: a melting pot of experiences. My idea is to expose and share my personal experience with others and hopefully, leave them with a thing or two to take along in their own life journeys. This approach is a school from where people's minds are tickled with new ideas and sooner or later, develop their intellectual and human capacities as caring and sharing beings. Through the story of my life, I want to create an awareness for people to stay focused on some basic principles or virtues of life such as belief and faith in the forces, big and small, that shape our affairs in ways we can only marvel at. The story is also an invitation to cherish virtues such as hard work, honesty, empathy, justice, love and respect, trust, confidence, transparency and accountability. These virtues are indispensable for in our quest and commitment to peaceful coexistence and to unity in our creative diversity as humans of various races and cultures. Let us accept and emulate shining examples. Let's reject all forms of animosity, hatred, jealousy, greed, blackmail, corruption, embezzlement, but bow down in reverence to all that is noble, good and accepted by all and sundry. This, in essence, if my modest message in Community Stewardship.

About The Book A book on stewardship automatically raises the question, “What does stewardship look like in our lives today?” As a Christian groomed in God, Knowledge and Service as a motto, I know there are four important principles about biblical stewardship we must understand: 1.the principle of ownership. The Psalmist (24th) instructs us that This is the fundamental principle of biblical stewardship. God owns everything, we are simply managers or administrators acting on his behalf; 2.the principle of responsibility. While we complain about our rights here on earth, the Bible constantly asks, What about your responsibilities? Owners have rights; stewards have responsibilities; 3.the principle of accountability; and, 4.the principle of reward.
We all should long to hear the master say what he exclaims in Matthew 25:21: Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness! These have been the guiding principles of my life as dissected in this book on My Stewardship.

Acknowledgements I’m like a tongueless nightingale whose throat is choking with emotions of gratitude and appreciation to all those who contributed in various ways to the writing of this Community Stewardship. The list is inexhaustive, but I want to assure everyone that all contributions were taken into consideration and served as a valuable component of this success story. However, with your permission, may I cite a few names: Dr. Wayne Allen of Mankato university in Minnesota who proposed the lovely idea of putting on paper my Public Service experience which could be useful to some people. I was reluctant but finally bought the idea. I am greatly indebted to him for this wonderful proposal. Mrs. Tadzong Esther Anwi Mofor, our children and grandchildren for their love, support, encouragement, sacrifices and tolerance. I know all what it takes to give a cool head and a healthy mind to assemble the material for this book, especially, at this age of the COVID-19 pandemic coupled with a multitude of socio-political challenges imposed on the world by the harsh international economic dilemma. The Manuscripts were carefully handled by a wonderful secretarial team led by Mangie Sirri Assumpta who was ably assisted by Ms. Anna Bombongo Allo, my grandchildren: Mandzu Mati Mankah Tadzong, Akamantso Ndeh Fru Tadzong, Anwi Itoko Tadzong, and Anwi Debbie Nyoh Fomundam. A special secretarial backup task force was made up of Messr Tawah C.C., Dr. Fonche Peter, Ntomfor Fru N. Tadzong, Dr. Bi A. Tadzong-Fomundam, Martin Ngang Asandom Nganyia, Samuel F. Fomundam, Dr. Ndiforngwah G.N., Dr. Regina Tawah, Ndifor Christopher. They equally did a great job. The arduous task of reading through the manuscripts was taken care of by Professor I. N. Tatah Mentan, who was ably
