Hopefully this book will be a humble reminder to all of those involved in healing work, which combines two healing techniques that are as powerful today as they were in the Biblical times.
Anointing with essential oil was commonly practiced throughout the Scriptures for many different purposes. The New Testament mentions it specifically in connection with praying for the sick. Today’s Aromatherapy is practiced in many different settings and variations but a common denominator among all aroma therapists is the sense of reverence towards the miracle of nature in the form of essential oils. They know that fragrance can affect the mood, calm, relax and release emotions.
Today’s energy work also comes in a variety of methods, but what all of them have in common is the unconditional love and the spiritual meaning of healing.

The future of healing energy rese arch.
In the twentieth-century, we have begun to explore a universal model, based upon Einsteinian relativity: a complex and interconnected universe of particle and energy fields, in which matter and energy are interconvertible. We are finally coming to accept the probability that universal systems are interactive, and that we, human beings, are an integral part of these systems—and of the w hole .
Recently, in a lecture for the International Society for the Study of Subtle Energies and Energy Medicine, Dr. Larry Dossey recounted an old story that is a metaphor for man’s progress toward understanding universal laws:
“There was once an argument among the gods over where to hide the secret of life so that men and women would not find it. One god said: Bury it under a mountain; they will never look there. No, the others said, one day they will find ways to dig up mountains and will uncover it. Another said: Sink it in the depths of the ocean; it will be safe there. No the others objected, humans will one day find a way to plumb the ocean’s depths and find it easily. Finally another god said: Put it inside them; men and women will never think of looking for it there. All the gods agreed, and so that is how the secret of life came to be hidden within us.”
I believe that we are now approaching the time when we will finally unlock our inner wisdom, learns to look inside of ourselves for the secret of life, and therefore honor our interconnectedness to everything in the universe. We will then understand our influence on all persons and things around us. We will become aware that our emotions and thoughts play a major role in our physical health. Energy healing will then cease to be considered paranormal; rather, we will come to re-discover an ancient wisdom: the truly effective way to treat physical illness is through comprehension of the human being as a whole.

Today’s energy work also comes in a variety of methods, but what all of them have in common is the unconditional love and the spiritual meaning of healing. Any energy work practitioner knows that to treat “the sick” it is primordial to access the client’s mental, emotional and spiritual state. The word “sick” literally means “without strength.” This “weakness” covers a whole list of dysfunctions - illness, disease, tiredness, spiritual struggles, depression, resentment, hopelessness, anger and so on.
The challenge until now was how to combine those two healing techniques, in a format that would fit today’s reality. Not only would it help professional aroma therapists and energy healers to blend those techniques in their work, but also, would give to the lay people, tools to work on themselves and help their loved ones. I believe this book is the missing link that will prepare the reader to further awake the healer within by combining aromatherapy and energy work, to create miracles in the lives they touch.
The first section of this book will give you extended background on energy healing from ancient times to today’s methods, and will succinctly describe several energy healing modalities in use today.
The second section of this book will give you a basic knowledge of Aromatherapy and chemistry as well as a description of the correlation of each essential oil with the emotions.

BACKGROUND
I was born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil. The death of my father occurred when I was only three years old. His loss prevented my mother from dedicating a lot of time to her five kids. Other than going to Catholic services on Sundays and attending special church services on the holidays, there was seldom talk of religious ideas in my household and consequently, no talk of the interconnections among Body, Mind and Spirit.
Health care was another difficult issue in my household. Being a low-income family with no health insurance, we did not have the luxury to visit a doctor to take care of our health problems, which probably were aggravated by poor nutrition. My first consultation with a doctor was at the age of 13 years: Already working, I could afford to pay my bills. Before the age of 13, however, we were treated by my mother with herbs and homemade remedies.
In my teenager years, I acquired a better understanding of what my mother had done for us. My curiosity about her natural wisdom opened the door for me to acquire self-knowledge and knowledge of other health care modalities besides allopathic medicine. I investigated herbal therapy, aromatherapy and homeopathy. Aromatherapy has been part of my daily life since.
