Sample Book Insights:
#1 God is your Protector. He wants you to know Him, and experience Him in and around your life. God takes the initiative to disclose Himself to people through their life events.
#2 The story of Abraham and Isaac illustrates how we grow to know God. As we experience God firsthand, we come to know Him in new and increasingly deep ways. We can learn that God provides as we read about Abraham’s experience, but we really know God as Provider once we experience Him providing something specifically for us.
#3 God can use anyone, anywhere, to be His instrument of provision for those who trust him. We had learned this academically, but not until we experienced it did our church come to know from experience that God is, in fact, the Provider.
#4 The Bible is filled with examples of God helping His people come to know the reality of who He is through their experiences. As Joshua and the Israelites were fighting their relentless enemies, the Amalekites, Moses oversaw the battle from a nearby mountain. While he held his hands up to God, the Israelites were victorious.

#1

God is your Protector. He wants you to know Him, and experience Him in and around your life. God takes the initiative to disclose Himself to people through their life events.

#2

The story of Abraham and Isaac illustrates how we grow to know God. As we experience God firsthand, we come to know Him in new and increasingly deep ways. We can learn that God provides as we read about Abraham’s experience, but we really know God as Provider once we experience Him providing something specifically for us.

#3

God can use anyone, anywhere, to be His instrument of provision for those who trust him. We had learned this academically, but not until we experienced it did our church come to know from experience that God is, in fact, the Provider.

#4

The Bible is filled with examples of God helping His people come to know the reality of who He is through their experiences. As Joshua and the Israelites were fighting their relentless enemies, the Amalekites, Moses oversaw the battle from a nearby mountain. While he held his hands up to God, the Israelites were victorious.

#5

When Moses encountered God in a burning bush, he asked, If I go to the Israelites and say to them: The God of your fathers has sent me to you, and they ask me, ‘What is His name. ’ what should I tell them. God replied, I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: I am has sent me to you.

#6

When God reveals His nature in a new way, it is always for a purpose. He created you for a love relationship with Him. When He encounters you, He is allowing you to know Him by experience.

God has revealed himself to you in many ways. As you go through life, take time to worship God. To worship is to revere and honor God, to acknowledge him as worthy of your praise.
Insights from Chapter 2

#1

God created you for a love relationship with him. He wants you to love him and respond to his immeasurable love for you. God’s nature is perfect, holy, and total love. He will never relate to you in any other way, although you may not always understand His actions.

#2

God's love is crucial to your confidence in him. He will never act contrary to His nature, and His discipline is based on love. You can trust in God's love for you, and trust that in time he will help you understand the confusing circumstances you may be experiencing.

#3

God’s commands are meant to lead you toward His blessings. They do not restrict you, but rather free you to prosper and live.

#4

God’s commands are designed to guide you to the best He has to offer. You will struggle to obey Him, however, if you do not trust Him. You will not trust Him if you do not love Him, and you will not love Him unless you know Him.

#5

As you seek to know and obey God's will, you must wait until you understand what He wants you to do and how He wants you to do it. Human wisdom and knowledge are insufficient to determine what you should do. You must depend on God's wisdom and knowledge for the important decisions of your life.

#6

When God directs you, you will never have to question His will. He knows what He is going to do. When He tells you to do something, follow His direction without question.

#7

As you walk with God, He will initially make Himself known to you simply. As you respond with a childlike trust, a new way of viewing life will unfold. Your life will be fulfilling. You’ll never have to live with a sense of emptiness or lack of purpose.

#8

God's will is always best. As you follow and obey Him, He will direct you in ways that are best for you and the situation into which He calls you. Since God is all-knowing, you never have to question the wisdom of His directions.

#9

God is love, and his will is always best. God is all-knowing and all-powerful, and he can enable you to accomplish his will. When God has asked you to do something, your response has typically been to obey him.
Insights from Chapter 3

#1

God can do more in a week than you can in years of your own effort. As you draw close to God, He will begin to accomplish things through your life.

#2

God's will is to be your highest priority. Following God's will is important for you, as it helps you live an abundant life and be filled with divine joy. God has a larger purpose in mind for all of humanity, and he wants you to become involved in what he is doing to bring salvation to others.

#3

When you abide in Christ, you will be amazed at what God accomplishes through your life. He wants a love relationship with you, and He wants to involve you in His kingdom work. He alone can initiate His plans.

#4

The experience is not meant to be exhausting or burdensome, but exhilarating and fulfilling. If you are burned out or stressed by your Christian duties, you may not be yoked to your Master.

#5

God gives us general directions, and then we must work out the details of our lives. We must not focus on our talents, abilities, and interests to determine God's will. Instead, we should seek God's will and watch Him equip us for whatever assignment He gives us.

#6

The next time you are given directions, follow them. Do not try to memorize them. Instead, listen to the person giving the directions and do what they say. Every time they say turn, you should turn.

#7

When you trust Jesus to guide you one step at a time, you will experience tremendous freedom. As long as you rely on your own judgment, you’ll worry every time you have to make a decision that might take a wrong turn.

#8

God told Abraham to leave his country, his relatives, and his father’s house to go to the land he would show him. God gave Abraham very little information about where he was going, but promised to do the rest.

#9

God calls people to follow him without giving them all the details at the beginning. He wants you to trust Him, and out of that relationship, He will guide your life.
