Introduction
Before I met Donna I felt as though I was drifting. I was attending church, reading the Bible and trying to do the “right things”. I knew there was a void deep inside. I was missing something integral. While praying about this, I began reading anything I thought might help, books by E.M. Bounds, Charles Spurgeon, Andrew Murray, Charles Stanley, Dutch Sheets, Robert Morris, and on and on. I still felt an emptiness. In some way I just couldn’t pull it all together.
When I met Donna, I almost immediately recognized that she had what I needed. At that time I couldn’t have put it into words, but I knew she had it! Later, Donna began teaching a class on Prayer and the Holy Spirit, I joined. I was determined to watch, study and absorb as much as possible. I found that she steeped herself in prayer, had tremendous faith and unequivocal trust in God’s mighty work. She loved God with all her heart and was ready to share His love and encouragement with everyone. This was what I had been seeking!
Donna shares some of her personal experiences in this book. She gives us a tiny glimpse into what a tandem walk with Jesus and a dependence on Him can look like. She shows us over and over that it is all about prayer.
Donna will quickly tell you, “Jesus came to LIVE in us and through us every day. Prayer keeps Jesus close. Ask God how and what to pray. If you just ask Him, He will even direct you to a scripture to pray.” And further, “We don’t have, because we don’t ask.” Healings, protection and other miracles all have their beginnings in prayer. Jesus is always listening with a heart full of love for His creation.
Prayer is a beautiful gift for us to use to do His work. When this gift is opened all things are possible. Put God in control of your life. Remember that if He cares for the sparrow, how much more He must care for each of us. Jesus is all about love and prayers. He is all we need.
Donna Drake has been God’s precious gift for me. Her mentoring and her teachings, especially on prayer, have broadened my understanding of the power of prayer, the miracles that follow and the absolute necessity of a close and humble relationship with God. She has a true servant’s heart that radiates her faith and trust in God’s great love for each of us and the mighty power of prayer. Prayer truly changes the world. Foreword
It is our desire and the desire of those praying over this book…that everyone reading it will experience the love of Jesus, understand His amazing Grace and feel the power of the Holy Spirit through prayer.
This book is about having a personal relationship with Jesus. A relationship where you desire to be in the presence of God, being still before Him, hearing His voice, experiencing His love, joy and peace. It is about allowing Jesus to become the center of your life desiring Him more than anything else! It is about asking Jesus to teach you how to pray His will. Not our will be done…but Jesus will be done.
To those who have an ear to hear let them hear,
not only with their ears, but also with their hearts,
the truths which are written in this book.
I want to encourage you to purchase a journal, write your prayers and share them with your children and grandchildren. They won’t forget God is a faithful God and You ARE a Powerful Praying Women behind the scenes. Miracles still happen today!
Pray The Will of God He answers our Prayers
CHAPTER 1 JESUS MY… “ABBA DADDY”
“For You are my hope, O Lord God;
You are my trust from my youth.
By you I have been upheld from birth’;
You are He who took me out of my mother’s womb.
My praise shall be continually of You.”
Psalms 71:5-6
With a burning desire in my heart, it has always been my dream and my passion to be a servant of Christ Jesus. Maybe that desire was so strong because we would not be alive today if it were not for the miracle working power of God, and my daddy and mother having an extraordinary faith and confidence in the healing power of Christ Jesus. Yes, I said “we” because I am a twin.
My mother, being pregnant, did not know she was going to have twins.
It was a very cold night in January when my mother began to feel uncomfortable and realized she was going into labor. She was concerned because it was seven weeks too early for the baby to be born. The weather was so cold, it was sleeting outside, snow was falling, the wind was blowing causing blizzard conditions, and the weather made the roads very hazardous. My daddy drove to the hospital while my mother was praying “God keep our car safely on the road.” Mother held my older brother tightly in her arms as they continued their drive to the hospital. Arriving safely, my daddy took mother’s hand and began to pray, “Jesus surround my wife with your grace, peace, and love. We pray that You, God, will breathe the breath of life into the baby and cause its respiratory system and heart to be as strong as if it was a full term baby. Lord, let the doctor confirm this request by saying, ‘The baby is as strong as if it were a full term baby.’ In Jesus’ name we pray.”
The doctor confirmed my mother was in labor and dilated to a five. She was half way to the birth of her baby and was apprehensive about the birth, knowing it was weeks before the normal delivery date. The doctor tried to comfort her and encouraged her by saying, “You will be holding a precious bundle in your arms soon.” She was very concerned and knew the only comfort would come from her faith in Jesus Christ, so she began praying and agreeing with the words her husband prayed. “God, please give me peace and surround my baby with Your love, strength, and perfect health as if it were a full term baby.”
“The Lord your God is in the midst of you, a mighty One, a Savior – Who saves!
He will rejoice over you with joy; He will rest [in client satisfaction]
and in His love He will be silent and make no mention
[of past sins, or even recall them];
He will exult over you with singing.”

As the baby was born my mother heard the doctor say, “Mrs. Brumble, you have a precious little girl… OH! OH! Wait, there is another one! Mother thought the doctor was teasing her. She thought, “TWINS?”
The doctor said, “Push, push, push! You are having twins. It’s a little boy! Your babies are very tiny but perfect
