DEDICATION
This book is dedicated to my God the Father, my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and the Spirit They have given me. You are the one true plug connecting us all to the source that will save our souls. I dedicate my life and everything in it to You. Make me a strong connection that continues to plug and lead others to You.
For my family, there isn’t enough I could say. My mother, father, sister, and other family members have all contributed to me becoming the man I am today. Without you, I would be lost.
To my wife, Sophy, and daughter, Tay, I love you more than I could ever express and vow to only plug you to things that will benefit your life collectively. I’m so grateful God blessed me with the responsibility of being your priest.
To every Plug I’ve ever had. Whether our connection was good or bad, I’ve learned from you. I’ve taken the moments shared and lessons given, applied them to my life and they have taken me to the NEXT LEVEL.
FOREWORD
What’s a four-time felon and ex-drug dealer doing writing a book? It’s one thing to get a second chance, but it’s another to share the drama of your life with the world. Only those who are grateful for another chance and truly care about others are willing to put their business in the streets.
I’ve known Brian for almost twenty years and seeing his drastic change to Christ, over the past year and a half, has been an up close and personal view of the grace of God. I’ve literally seen him grow from being a man of good, to a man of God. When God first told me to start the Grace Tour, I knew Brian would be a perfect fit. His experiences in life mirrored those of the Apostle Paul, and also my own. Paul was once viewed as an enemy of God, because of his persecution of Christians. Once he became a believer of God and found his purpose, Paul became one of the most powerful disciples. It was his broken past that equipped and validated him for the work for God. Brian’s testimony, pure passion, and zealous spirit are a force to be reckoned with.
Brian has his fair share of tattoos but the one that intrigues me the most is the one that’s on his hand that says, “Loyal” and his loyalty to Christ and ministry has been evident. This book is one that will take you on a roller coaster ride of grace. In this book, Brian shares with you his raw and uncut story about the choices he made while trying to cope with the disappointments and challenges of life. We all experience pain of life, but how we respond to adversity and the decisions we make will determine the direction of our lives.
Whether you know it or not we’re all looking for The Plug. The Plug is where you get your strength and power for life. Many view The Plug as being a job, money or drug connection, but Brian has found the true Plug. Jesus said, “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” [John 15:6]. The vine is the source of power that feeds the branch. It’s clear here that Jesus is saying that He is the Vine [Plug] and we are His branches. As you read this book, you will see many “plugs” that Brian tried to connect to, but it wasn’t until he found the true plug that his life changed forever. I believe there are two types of people in the world; those who are living and those who are merely existing. The difference between the two is the one who’s connected to the “plug,” the true source of power, is the one who’s living. A rock exists but has no power. You will truly experience life when you connect to the “plug” who gave you purpose and life.
For some of you this book will serve as medicine, bringing hope and healing to what you’re going through. While for others, this book may serve as a preventive measure that will prevent you from making some of the mistakes Brian so courageously shares in this book. “A fool can learn from his own mistakes, but a wise man can learn from the mistakes of others.” Be wise and learn from the knowledge “B” shares in this book.
My prayer is that you don’t just read The Plug, but that you tap into the “Plug” and experience the power for yourself.

INTRODUCTION
Webster’s definition for the word, Plug:
A part at the end of an electric cord that has two or three metal pins that connect the cord to a source of electricity.
A part at the end of a wire or cable that is used to connect machines or devices.
Urban Dictionary definition:
The Plug - your supplier, basically your drug dealer.
The Bible - Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
For a long time, I was searching for a plug. A plug is much more than something we connect our electric devices to in order to receive power from a source, or where you can go for a hook-up. A plug is anything that connects one thing to another. You and I are plugs. If we are connected, we either receive a positive or negative energy from the connection. We all have resources that others have the ability to access once a connection has been made. A series of connections and plugs are what contribute to our overall success or failure in life. The people, environments, and spirits we plug into determine the type of source we draw from and, ultimately, reflect. It sounds so simple. If we plug into things that are good and true we, too, will be good and true. The same can be said for plugging into things that are bad and based on lies. The purpose of this book is to direct you to plugs that will ensure your success in life as an influential member of society. There is someone out there who needs to plug into you for a connection they cannot get anywhere else. This book is to also encourage you to establish a connection with the ultimate plug, Jesus Christ, who can plug you in to the ultimate source, God the Father. It is my prayer that as you read the chapters you don’t see me and the mess, but that you see God and the presence of His grace in your life and through the example He’s made of me. If you’ve been searching for a plug, search no more. Without further ado, I present to you… THE PLUG.
In the beginning, lol. Sounds funny coming out but if we all think of our beginnings, we are often fond of them. We loved the good ol’ days and often wish for those times even though we know it isn’t possible, myself included. I can remember the holidays with the family, the vacations, the reunions, the birthday parties, the amazing times we had growing up. I’m grateful for memories because I believe they are there to encourage us and remind us of a time when things might be better than the present. We learn from it, but we no longer live there. I’m also grateful for the pain, struggles, trials, hardships, and traumatic experiences because they’ve prepared me for the purpose I was created to carry out. I’m thankful to know that going through these things have aided in shaping me into the man I am to become. Also, thankful that God was there every step of the way because without Him, I would’ve been gone a long time ago. As you read this book, and peel back the layers of my past with me, I hope you can see yourself somewhere in here and relate—knowing you can overcome whatever it is you’re up against. I guess we should start, and I pray it blesses you!!

UNCONSCIOUS
IN THE BEGINNING…
I was born into a Christian family (SDA) on August 10, 1983, to Brian Thomas Sr. and Cheryl Harper (formerly Thomas), in Huntsville, AL. Huntsville is a small, fast developing city in the northern part of Alabama bordering Tennessee. I am the eldest of two children, my younger sister, Christi N. Thomas, was born December 26, 1985. My father was a hardworking, God-fearing man doing what he could to support his new family, and my mother was a full time house manager. We soon moved to Akron, OH because of a new position my father acquired at his job. He was a rubber chemist and very skilled in his field, therefore the demand for someone with his skill-set was high, so we of course went where he was called. We lived there, in Akron, for two years before relocating back to Huntsville. My mother didn’t like the long distance and separation from family so to better accommodate her, my father found a new and better position close to Huntsville in Gadsden.
This history and back-story I’m giving you is important because the importance of providing for your family and actually being in the home is crucial to the development and raising of your kids.
I was three years old when I was enrolled in Oakwood Child Development Lab. That’s where I met most of my friends that I’m still close with today. We built life-long, lasting friendships in that development lab. I can remember the crushes on girls, games we’d create to play, and just good times. I would spend the next three years going from the development lab to mid-second grade. You s
