The school year was ending soon and to close a studious year, Françoise, the science teacher, had planned to offer students a day out in order to discover nature through plants – those that produce spices, in particular. The day, eagerly awaited by all, finally arrived…
Nicolas and Julie found themselves with their classmates for a new adventure of discovery. They were especially happy with the idea of a day of relaxation and were eager to see the first leg of the journey: the spice market.
This was about an hour away by bus, providing the teacher with the time to introduce students to the key elements of this educational walk.
First, visiting the market would allow them to discover the diversity of spices and aromas. They would see the most prevalent such as ginger, turmeric, cumin, curry, the clove flower bud commonly known as clove, cinnamon bark, so fragrant, and nutmeg...
