Description

The roots of an insidious Religious Humanism have for some time now steadily been growing deeper and deeper and taking a firm hold in the modern Christian Church in America and across the world. The lethality of this rooting is that Religious Humanism is filled with false teachings which are historically known as heresies.

“Here I Stand; I Can Do No Other. God Help Me. Amen”
Martin Luther

I preface the book with this story. A preacher went to preach in a distant place. He was kind of lonely and depressed, as no one met him there when he arrived. The place where he was staying was a rather ratty motel, and he got up Sunday morning feeling kind of blue. He went to breakfast and he needed some encouragement. So he said to the waitress, “I want a poached egg and a good word.” She came back a few minutes later and brought him the poached egg. She put the poached egg down and was about to leave. The preacher said to her, “Wait a minute. I said a poached egg and a good word. You haven’t given me the good word.” So she came back to him, stooped down and said, “Don’t eat the egg.” There are those times in history and in our lives that the best word we can receive is a word of warning and alarm. This moment in history is indeed one of those times.
Modern America is undergoing a massive spiritual and moral corrupting due to the invasion of Secular Humanism. Modern Christianity is undergoing a massive spiritual and moral corrupting due to the invasion of Religious Humanism. Secular Humanism has made great inroads into the very soul of American society through the influence of left-wing judges and politicians as well as the American Civil Liberties Union. Religious Humanism has made great inroads into the very heart of the American Church through the influence of humanistic preachers and man-centered/mammon-centered theologies.
In either case, whether it is Secular Humanism or Religious Humanism, the emphasis is on the human and not on the Divine – a humanized philosophy and religion. Moreover, while Secular Humanism replaces God with man, Religious Humanism equalizes man with God and prioritizes man before God. In both instances man has increased and God has decreased in stature and importance.
The philosophy of Secular Humanism replaces Divinity with humanity, while the theology of Religious Humanism elevates humanity to Divine status. This will become shockingly evident as this book unfolds. The catastrophic consequence is that in either case, God no longer stands exclusive, transcendent or sovereign. In short, in Religious Humanism, God is but the backdrop to the drama of life’s main character – man.
As a result of Religious Humanism’s deification of man, man’s natural sinfulness and depravity are now being down-played, deodorized if not denied. People are going to Religious Humanism churches not only to escape sin’s punishment, but sin-consciousness in their lives. Religious Humanism’s message is not atoning, just nicely antiseptic. God is no longer the pardoner of the guilty, but the patron of the worthy. Religious Humanism obscures man’s villainies and denies his villain status. Religious Humanism helps people ignore sin and exalt self!
Secular Humanism presents man as independent, while Religious Humanism presents man and God as codependent. In Secular Humanism, “Independent Man” is self-enabling, while in Religious Humanism “Codependent Man and God” are mutually enabling. In the former, man doesn’t need God. In the latter, man and God equally need each other. In Secular Humanism, man uses and commands other men to accomplish his desires. In Religious Humanism, man uses and commands God to accomplish his desires.
If you will, in Secular Humanism, man exists for himself, while in Religious Humanism, God exists for man. This is totally corrupting authentic Christianity in which man exists for God. In Religious Humanism God becomes the servant of man and not man the servant of God. God becomes man’s helper, not his Master!
In my book Is God With America ? I explain the lethality of Secular Humanism in American society, politics, and educa-tion. In this book Modern Christianity Corrupted , I explain the lethality of Religious Humanism in modern Christendom. Religious Humanism is the forced marriage of Humanism and Theism that has found its way into so much of religious network television programming today, as well as into major denominational and independent churches across America.
It stands to reason that Religious Humanism, given its priority emphasis on man, is carnal, temporal, and materialistic in its thrust and priorities. When man becomes the focus, the spiritual and the eternal are effaced and eventually erased. God becomes the means to man’s material and temporal ends at best, and not Himself the eternal beginning and end of all things. Religious Humanism can be characterized as a modern epidemic of materialistic affluenza which supersedes spirituality and is blocking the flow of a holy, deep God awareness.
Entire congregations and vast TV audiences across the world are regularly listening to sermons on man’s comforts rather than God’s character, on cash rather than on Christ and the cross, on riches rather than righteousness, on giving to get rather than giving to bless God and His Kingdom, and on success rather than salvation. Am I saying that comforts, cash, riches etc. are taboo in the Christian life? Of course not! God graciously meets our needs and then some. What I am saying is that Religious Humanism majors in minors, and minors in majors. It has everything so horribly twisted and out of balance so that people’s spiritual vision is being seriously knocked out of focus. In short, Religious Humanism obsesses about what man desires and deserves, not about what God demands.
It is complex! Religious Humanism is not a monolith. It has many heads and many faces. Muslims tell an ancient story about the time when the prophet Mohammed rode his horse to Heaven. When he got there, he saw an angel with seventy thousand heads. Each head had seventy thousand faces. And each face had seventy thousand mouths. And if that was not enough, each mouth had seventy thousand tongues. All of that on the neck of one angel! You talk about a multi-headed grotesque monstrosity! I have come to feel that way about the many heads of Religious Humanism. But you will find that they are all on the one neck of exaggerated and exalted man.
It is my fervent prayer that the Holy Spirit will use Modern Christianity Corrupted to expose this false religion that has infiltrated and is corrupting the modern church under the guise of Christianity. The historic Christian Church’s foundations are being undermined, her laws discarded, her worship diluted, her doctrines shredded, her Gospel falsified, and her integrity im-pugned. It is not Christianity, but rather a dangerous counterfeit. It has reached pandemic proportions, and like a massive ava-lanche it is sweeping many downhill and burying them on the slippery slopes of temporality and carnality, and endangering their spiritual, moral and eternal lives.
I am deeply concerned about the children of modernity who are now being contaminated with Religious Humanism in their churches before they even get started in life. There is an Amish proverb that states, “We do not inherit the future from our fa-thers, rather we borrow it from our children.” If we do not clean up the modern church from the toxic waste of Religious Humanism in a big hurry, we will poison the minds and the hearts of our children and future generations to the imperiling of their souls.
