FOREWORD
I love my children and my grandchildren dearly. I believe that they will try to comfort me when the door is closing on this temporary life that I am living. One day their door on this life will begin to close. How I wish I could comfort them in that hour. Humanly speaking, that will be impossible.
God does not deal with impossible. With him all things are possible. The door on this life is closing. How fast it will close I do not know. I do know this; however, I am the brother of the eternal Jesus. The eternal God is my Father! We have become inseparable. Now I know that not a hair of my head will be harmed when my door closes. My friends, my journey is eternal. God has bestowed upon me the power of his life. I am an eternal child of God.
When the door of this life begins to close on my children or grandchildren, my prayer for them is that they will have entered into an intimate and passionate love affair with Jesus and the Father. I pray for the peace and love of God to overshadow their lives forever.
I can only truly relate to my own reality. What I have discovered is that there is a life that can take me and mine beyond our personal experiences.
I have not experienced life after death. So, how can I speak of such things? Religion cannot take me into that experience. My own human effort cannot carry me there. If I said I know a man that can take me beyond my experiences in life, the world would deny it. If I said that I know a man who was victorious over death, the world would doubt it. Then, I would say to the world read Matthew, Mark, Luke and John and prove them wrong.
Most people come to a place where they ultimately want truth. You may not even be aware of it. However, deep within your heart and soul you are yearning for truth. Most likely when you receive a truth, you do not immediately realize that you have encountered it. You may have just realized that your old way of thinking was biased and prejudiced because of your personal experiences in life.
When I began, Me, My Boys and God , I had no idea where the writing would lead me. I had been studying and submitting articles for the Clay County Progress from the book of John chapter 13. I paused and began to reflect on how God teaches.
If you believe in scripture, you know that we are in the time period told by Jeremiah 31:31-34. We live in a time when God is the teacher. His lessons may come through men and women in the flesh. However, if the teaching is true to the heart of God, it comes from God, through the conduit of the Holy Spirit of Truth.
What I have written concerning the way God teaches is not of my own understanding. I cannot write of eternal things unless I have help from the one who was in the beginning with God. The apostle John says that Jesus is God. I call him my brother, of perfect, sinless flesh, who reveals God’s truth.
There are some personal things in this writing that reflects on how I see God as my teacher. God has taught me through many people, but he came to me through infants and little children. You might ask; “How can this be?” Well, Nicodemus, a very educated Pharisee, asked Jesus the same question in John 3:9. Jesus was sharing with Nicodemus the necessity of being born again, born new or born of God.
The necessity of a new birth is because our experiences in life are limited to human experiences. Before we can begin to experience spiritual things, we must be born of God. Matthew, Mark, Luke and John had come into the inner realm of God. In order to fully grasp their words, you must first be born again of God. Jesus told Nicodemus that he could not see the Kingdom of God unless he was first born of God. Nicodemus needed not a fleshly rebirth, but to be born as a new person in the image and teachings of God before salvation could be revealed to him.
I am now experiencing eternal revelations from God. As a man, it is amazing to me how God can teach one through a child. I imagine from God’s perspective; it is just everyday work. God knows that when the student is ready to receive, the teacher will appear. Are you ready to be taught by God? If so, the teacher has appeared. It is not me. This teacher is the Holy Spirit of Truth sent from the Father and the Son. Are you ready for your lessons?
Open your heart and your mind to new possibilities. Realities! Let God teach you with his love, his kindness, his knowledge and wisdom.
More than anything in life I want my boys, my family and my friends to know the one true God and to be known by God. I did not get to this place overnight. I have been walking, running and talking with Jesus. He is my brother. He lives with me, and he lives in me. He has shown me beautiful places I cannot fathom how to get there alone. However, this Spirit of God will show me the way into the paradise of God. There is an unexplainable joy in knowing that you are safe and secure in the hands of God.
I love my wife and all my family. I love all my boys and all my girls. However, God saw fit to teach me many things through a growing ten-month-old child. When God uses a small child to teach you about his love, you have been educated. I was Sean’s provider of all things for a period of time. I had always loved him, but then that love grew. Sean and I became close because of the circumstances and experiences of life. We were a twosome for a while. God knew what he was doing.
Sean could not do very much or give very much. He was small, innocent, helpless as babies are. As I cared for him and loved him, he loved me back. One of my wife’s sayings comes to mind: “I cannot give what I have not received”. Well! Sean was receiving love and he was giving back with full measure. When he returned my love, I loved him all the more. He became the apple of my eye and melted my heart.
One day I was looking at Sean. My heart was pouring out into the atmosphere a deep, passionate, enduring love. Then my eyes were opened. I knew without a doubt that I was the apple of my Father’s eye. I knew that through this child God was teaching me how much he loved me.
My God’s love is passionate and enduring. He is pouring out his heart into me. He wants me to love him back the way that I love this child. Actually, God wants me to love him more so that He can give me more of his pure and perfect love, so I can give, and Sean can receive the pure, perfect love of God into his heart.
I want you, the reader, to know this. Nothing can separate you from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus. It reaches beyond death because death has no power over the love of God, and it cannot claim the
