Description

How Satan Fights offers a unique military intelligence analysis of how Satan and his demonic army will wage war against mankind, using the same unclassified intelligence process that is used by the US Armys military intelligence corps today. Author Mark Kelly is a Christian who served as a tactical intelligence officer for thirteen years; he now presents an investigation of the war from biblical times through today, providing a deeper knowledge of our enemy, Satan. He explains the combat strength of Satans demonic army, their arrangement on the battlefield, their political and military command structure, their strengths and weaknesses, and their mission on earth. With analysis based on information found in the Holy Scriptures, How Satan Fights considers what Satan intends to do with God if he wins the war. Kelly reveals Satans military doctrines and explores how he has used these doctrines from the time of Adam to the present day. More important, he demonstrates that Satan uses the same tactics of yesterday against the faithful Christians of today. Through this study, you can gain increased understanding of the war that Satan waged against Jesus and the apostles. This war is real, and it is being waged all around us. We must understand our enemy and his tactics if we, through the Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, are to defeat him.

PREFACE
Back in 1989 just before Gulf one kicked off, my unit was deployed on a training exercise to the Republic of Turkey. Our area of operation was the Middle East, the region recognized by the world, minus a few anthropologists, as the place where civilization first began. I found myself back in The Republic of Turkey in late 1991 after coalition forces liberated Kuwait and rendered Saddam’s million man Iraqi army combat ineffective as a result of Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait.
As a military intelligence officer it was my duty to “know the enemy” in this area of the world; to understand their cultural and religious beliefs and how those beliefs could impact our operations. It was important to understand why there was a war like violence woven into the cultural and religious fabric of the Islamic nations in this region. With that said, I began to study the history of this region. I believed that Genesis was a logical starting point as it is one of the oldest sources in the world relevant to the middle Eastern cultures who have occupied the Fertile Crescent since the earliest of times.
Growing up Christian I had read Genesis and was familiar with all the stories from Adam and Eve to Abraham; Isaac, Jacob, Ishmael, Moses and so forth, but just prior to Gulf One, the book of Genesis had become an intelligence resource rather than a book about the beginnings of mankind and man’s relationship with God. I began studying the bible with a focus only toward those things that were relevant to my unit’s overseas mission. Little did I know at the time that this would be the beginning of a long journey which would have a profound and significant impact on my life. This approach to the study of scripture opened my eyes to the spiritual war. The spiritual war was no longer mere information passed on to me by the Apostle Paul. For me, it had become real.
Based on my training and experience in the field of Military Intelligence I was able to piece together the actual war between God and Satan. Oddly, when I viewed the Bible as a book of war, a unique clarity of scriptural understanding and deeper knowledge of things not seen fell upon me and I am forever changed because of it. The bible finally made sense to me.
This Journey has brought me closer to Christ, His Apostles and all the martyrs of Christendom because for the first time, I finally understood their sacrifice. I developed a great admiration for their courage and selfless devotion to God’s word in the face of such a formidable adversary and I was humbled by it. These soldiers of Christ fought the good fight in enemy territory and gave the ultimate sacrifice for our faith. I am proud to be called a Christian. I am deeply indebted to Christ, the apostles and the martyrs. I am forever changed, forever vigilant and forever a Christian soldier in the army of God.

THE GOAL OF THIS BOOK
The goal of this book is to provide the reader an opportunity to experience God’s holy word through the eyes of the soldier using the very precepts of war used by countless armies of many different nations throughout time. By employing the same intelligence analysis tools used by the U.S. Military Intelligence Units positioned around the world we hope to reveal to the reader the spiritual war that is masked within the events found throughout the bible. Through the use of the intelligence analysis process it is hoped that the biblical events that have occurred throughout the bible will bring to the reader a deeper insight and a new perspective of the spiritual war from the time of Adam and Eve to today. It is hoped that these insights will bring you closer to Christ and the Apostles and instill in the reader a greater appreciation for the sacrifice Christ made for us and the dangers faced by the Apostles and the martyrs who fought the good fight and persevered so that the Church would be established and secured.
This book is a soldier’s insight into the spiritual war. It is by no means politically correct. The information presented has been analyzed in a manner indicative of a M.I. unit’s analysis of the enemy. I do not pretend to be a theological scholar as that is not my discipline and I prefer to leave such scholarship to those who are smarter and more worthy than I. Most of our biblical understanding with regard to events that occurred in the bible has been presented to us by biblical scholars who research, study and report their conclusions on a particular biblical topic based on this discipline. We certainly want to share our gratitude for their hard work. Their scholarly insight into the understanding of the spiritual meaning behind the events that have unfolded from Genesis to Revelation have been a major influence in maintaining the integrity and truth of the most precious book on earth. Without their insight, this book could not be possible.
In the world of scholarship there is always time to analyze and study, question and write about events within the bible that led up to and established the Christian faith. Their focus has been on Christ, Salvation and the church which is certainly appropriate however as this book will demonstrate, our focus is on certain events recorded in the Bible relevant to the spiritual war itself. Therefore we will accept what the bible has to say about certain events based on their own merits believing that from a soldiers perspective, disciplined in the field of intelligence, it is the best information we have available to us at that time. For example, in Revelation 9:16 the Apostle John testified; “The number of the mounted troops was two hundred million. I heard their number.” In the NIV text notes it is documented “the reference is most likely general, intending an incalculable host rather than a specific number”.
In this instance those in the world of intelligence collection and analysis will brief that the composition of the enemy forces arrayed along the Euphrates River is 200 million. We will further brief that this number represents the mounted troops which in today’s terminology would equate to a massive mechanized maneuver force. Other factors’ relevant to sticking with the specific number of 200 million is as follows;
1.The Apostle John has provided us with what we refer to as “Human Intelligence” or intelligence obtained from people in our area of operation that have been deemed trustworthy.
2.John in this case advises that he heard their “exact number” so he infers through his testimony that someone in heaven who had knowledge of this specific event gave him the composition of the enemy forces attacking from the Euphrates River.
3.The Apostle John is a trusted soldier of Christ fighting in the same army we fight i
