My book is a story of my upbringing on the island, life in the US, adventurous experiences while serving in the military, merchant marines, my mental obstacles, my desire for a higher education, writing poetry as an outlet for peace and inspiration, and using it to uplift others and praise God. Undaunted truth will never fade away. This work will intrigue the reader.

This book is dedicated in memory of My Dear Mother who died in the year 2010. She did everything she could to motivate me to be a success. I was often told that menial work is not for me. I am to be a professional. She also said that she was praying for me to find a good woman; one that loves me and not what I have.
Mama, I thank you and greatly appreciate all that you have done for me.
Introduction
I enjoyed a pleasant life until the age of ten. From that time onwards I was attacked by an unexplainable mental problem. I experienced difficulty in learning and doing anything in general. I was molested by unfriendly children and life was hard to cope with. Coming to the United States was somewhat of a relief in that I was able to complete high school without the strict conditions that existed at home in Nevis, West Indies. I enlisted in the U.S. Navy after high school. The military life was strenuous, but I was able to adjust to it. I was given great opportunity to advance my education, but found it difficult because of my mental problem. I became a merchant seaman after completing military service. I traveled from place to place trying on my own ways to cope with my mental condition, but it only grew worse. I have since earned my higher education, and been hospitalized and treated in mental health facilities. I have come a long way in my progress and overcoming obstacles. I am thankful for what I have achieved.
CHAPTER ONE My Troubles Begin
From the age of ten in my home island of Nevis, West Indies, I had a mind altering experience that has followed me throughout my whole life. As a child I always enjoyed the outdoors. I loved climbing trees, going to the beach, playing cricket in the yard, and setting bird traps. One day all that changed when I felt a mysterious heaviness in my head that constrained my ability to think and do things freely. I quickly complained to my Dad about the feeling and he didn’t know what to do. He decided that I should see a doctor. When we arrived, he told the doctor what the problem was. The doctor then exami
