For Rick
You love me with a single-mindedness that still catches me off guard.
I could not have done this without your love, devotion, and unswerving commitment to me, our children, and the hurting moms who needed to hear this message.
I love you.
This is my beloved and this is my friend.

Ultimate thanks and recognition must be awarded to those women (and men) who have purchased, read, identified with, and then recommended the contents of She s Gonna Blow! since its publication in 2001. Your willingness to trust me with your own feelings and experiences via e-mails, phone calls, and letters encouraged both my writing heart and mothering soul.
My children, Kristen, Ricky Neal, and Patrick: For allowing me to tell your stories and loving me when I am quite unlovable.
Ms. Oprah Winfrey, production staff, and featured moms on the program titled Moms Who Lose Control : It isn t every day you get the opportunity to appear as a guest author on America s number-one-rated daytime talk show. Over a three-day period of moderating a discussion group, sitting in a green room, and taping on that famous and familiar stage, the message of hope for angry moms was made available to more than 40 million viewers. Whew! It doesn t get much better than that trust me.
Dr. James Dobson and broadcast staff of Focus on the Family: While working on the original manuscript of She s Gonna Blow! I often repeated the following to myself: This book has got to be discussed on Focus on the Family. I knew my target audience, and Focus on the Family radio reached them like no one else. Approximately two years after the book s release, I found myself speaking comfortably with Dr. Dobson and John Fuller. I ll never be able to say thank you enough for the opportunity to reach untold thousands (more likely, millions) with the glorious message of lasting change for angry mothering.

Hearts at Home
You Have Never Been Alone
The room was filled with three or four hundred women. Noisy chatter and punctuating laughter filled the lecture hall as I waited nervously to begin the first-ever presentation of She s Gonna Blow! The place was Bloomington, Illinois, and it was the annual spring conference of Hearts at Home, an organization that supports mothers and mothering.
Trusting the recommendation of popular keynote speaker Charlene Ann Baumbich, Hearts at Home extended an invitation to me, a relative no-name (my mom knew me!), and gave me the opportunity of a lifetime. I told Dee Kirwan, the workshop coordinator, that I would be content speaking in a broom closet! What a tremendous opportunity this was going to be!
Over the next few months, I prayed that God would draw the very women that needed to hear the message and the heart of my presentation. I prayed that my outline would be clear and would provide the things these mothers longed to hear.
I prayed that at least 12 ladies would sign up.
About three weeks before the conference date, I received a phone call from the director of Hearts at Home, * Jill Savage. As soon as she identified herself, my heart sank.
Oh no, I thought. She s going to cancel the workshop because of lack of interest. There are probably not enough moms to fill the broom closet.
Of course, Jill knew nothing of the conversation I was having with myself as she began to speak.
Julie, I wanted to call you personally and let you know something about your workshop
Yep, here it comes . I waited for the broom to drop.
One out of five mothers chose She s Gonna Blow! as the workshop they most wanted to attend!
Okay, there it is-wait a minute-what did she just say?
Julie, we ve never had this type of response to a workshop before. I think there are a lot of angry moms out there!
Then she asked the question that put me over the top!
Julie, would you mind presenting this workshop two times on Friday and Saturday?
Would I mind? Would I mind! I quickly replied, I d love to, and thanked her for giving me the opportunity to speak a message I knew had an audience that was longing for hope. After our phone conversation ended, I was literally brought to my knees in thanksgiving. I knew that one out of five women had chosen She s Gonna Blow! not as a result of the speaker, but rather because they were drawn by a loving heavenly Father who knew their hearts intimately.
He knew that the tears, the frustrations, and the triumphs I had experienced were going to be used for eternal purposes, purposes beyond anything I had imagined or dreamed. And I now knew, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that I was not alone!
On that cool March weekend in 1998, I found myself holding, praying with, crying with, lau
