Description

In her third book "Conversations with Your Home," Carole Hyder goes radically beyond Feng Shui principles into a new dimension. She dares to open the door to the idea that a house is alive and vital and that it wants to help, to protect, and to inspire those who live within its walls. Through touching stories, her personal observations, and thought-provoking exercises, this book will guide you in having meaningful conversations with your own space in order to help you create your perfect life. "Conversations with Your Home" is a landmark approach to creating a sacred place you can call "home." Using her Feng Shui experience to propel her into new territory, Carole Hyder guides you into discovering the possibilities your home may offer. The first part of the book looks at your home from a psychological perspective, exploring how your home may already be indicating your future without you knowing exactly what it's saying. In the second part of "Conversations with Your Home," Carole offers exercises to help you make a connection with your home. Each exercise is intended to help you open the door to having an active communication between you and your space. The third part helps you understand your home by identifying an archetype that your space may be expressing. Nine different archetypes are presented for consideration, accompanied by a questionnaire to assist in discerning the unique energy your home may be holding. All three sections of the book are intended to help you build and nurture a healthy and vital relationship with your home. In doing so, you will realize that you are not alone in your journey but instead are connected to a conscious energy that happens to come to you in a spatial format. This energy can help you feel whole and safe so that, in the end, you can create your perfect life.

Ourhouse has a heart and a soul, and eyes to see us with;

itis us and we are in its confidence, and live in its grace
andin the peace of its benediction.

Inmost alternative modalities like taiqi, qigong, acupuncture,feng shui the underpinning concept is that everything isenergy. Any culture that has a strong connection to nature knows thisto be true. Recently, science has come around to verifying the sameidea that all matter is made up of energy. When furtherexperimentation confirmed that someone observing a phenomenon canchange the actual phenomenon, the definition that "everythingis energy" expanded to incorporate thoughts as well.
Weare all connected through this energy which makes us part of anentire network. Our actions and our thoughts will not only affect ourimmediate surroundings, they will also somehow impact the blackbamboo plants growing on PoTu Shan Island off the coast of China. Asremote as that may seem, it may also explain why some days we movethrough unexplained suffering and pain. We may be feeling the impactof a grieving mother in Boston. Why would a system like this be setup anyway? Why couldn’t we simply deal with our own issues,keep them for ourselves, and let everyone else do likewise? Well, wewould be missing out on a very rewarding and inspiring potential.
Notonly is there a connection between everything concrete andconceptual, but this connection has a consciousness of its own.Artists will share that in the midst of their creation, somethinghappens and the artwork dictates their next move. My friend andmentor Margaret has indicated that when writing any fiction work, hercharacters, once developed, decide how the plot should unfold. Theexhilaration of being part of a jam session with other musicians isthat you get lifted out of the predictable progressions intosomething that no one expected. Something outside of ourselvesintervenes to create a better experience, perhaps a more truthfulone, but certainly a more exhilarating ride.
Thisinteraction is not limited to artwork, novels and music, but ispossible within your own home as well. There is a potential thatexists in this spatial format that can open figurative doors, notjust the literal ones. It is possible to establish a reciprocalrapport with your home in which you receive guidance and support, aswell as discover an arena in which you can be who you truly are. Yourhome becomes your piece of music, the characters in your novel, yourartwork because, like all the other creative moments, itexemplifies the concept that "everything is energy."
Byfinding ways to connect with your home, you will be able to accessthe answers as well as the questions that lie within the walls. Youmay explore new possibilities for you and your home. You can createthe life you always wanted and the life your home dreams about.
In Conversationswith Your Home, you will have the opportunity to connect with your home. In the firstsection, Psychology of Space, you will have a chance to look at howyour space gives you clues to who you are and, more importantly,where you are going. Your home will mirror to you a true sense ofself where you can get in touch with your own core. Your home intendsto help you become who you are meant to be.
Inthe second section, Stages of Sanctuary, you will follow your home’snatural progression of life from birth to death. Over the span oftwelve chapters with accompanying exercises, you will engage withyour home in ways you may never have done before. There will be manypoints at which your connection to your home may come alive for you,whether you intend to name your home, write to your home, or accept aletter from your home.
Thethird section, Symbols of the Soul, underscores that your space istruly alive through the use of archetypes. This section is groundedin the premise that your home comes to you with prior energyinfluences. A questionnaire will help you determine which of ninearchetypes your home may have captured based on the year it wasbuilt, predecessors, remodeling projects or your own intuition.
Conversationswith Your Home waswritten to let you know that you and your house are together for ahigher purpose, intentional characters in the drama of life. Allthree sections of this book are intended to help you build andnurture a healthy and vital relationship with your home. In doing so,you will hopefully realize that you are not alone in your journey butinstead are connected to a conscious energy that happens to come toyou in a spatial format. This energy can help you feel whole and safeso that in the end you can create your perfect life.
Introduction
Pattyhas been my esthetician for several years. A thoughtful, beautiful,and intuitive soul, she is always anxious to share stories andexchange advice. Our monthly sessions become as much therapy for oneanother as a treatment for my face.
Oneday as we were beginning our time together, Patty excitedly told meshe had bought a house and was moving. Despite our indepthconversations over many, many treatments, the topic of her moving hadnever surfaced. In fact, I had heard comments that would lead me tobelieve she would never leave her beloved townhouse, for it offeredher the security and sanctuary she loved and needed.
Itseems one day Patty had a jarring revelation about the discouragingdirection her life was taking. She decided it was time for a change.As though guided from a cosmic source, she instantly understood whatshe needed to do and that was move. Although it had not been apriority up to that point, moving suddenly seemed the only way tomake the kind of change she wanted. While working on a less talkativeclient than I, she made a mental list of the features she "saw"in her new home: a particular neighborhood, space in which to moveher business, beautiful back garden, specific price range. As anafterthought, she also saw a pond with a waterfall. This wasn’ta wish list in Patty’s mind; this was a picture of reality forher.
Herclient left and Patty tried to integrate this vision that had
