A BOUT THE A UTHOR

Ghostly phenomena were a common occurrence in Brad Steiger’s childhood home, and because these experiences were accepted by a mystically inclined mother and challenged by a skeptically inclined father, Steiger believes that he achieved a balanced attitude toward ghosts and hauntings that has served him well during his over fifty years as a psychical researcher. Since 1958, Steiger has been invited to dozens of private homes, office buildings, dormitories, hospitals, and sacred areas to investigate haunting manifestations. He has witnessed spirit materializations, heard spectral voices, felt ghostly touches on his person, and once was even lifted into the air by a hostile entity. In the early 1970s, the Steiger family moved into a haunted house that was home to several entities who tried every frightening method they could devise to drive them out.
His first book, Ghost, Ghouls and Other Peculiar People, a collection of his articles on ghosts and the paranormal, was published in 1965. Steiger has now authored or coauthored 170 books on the mysterious and unknown, including the classics The Werewolf Book: The Encyclopedia of Shape-shifting Beings, Mysteries of Time and Space, and Real Vampires, Night Stalkers, and Creatures from the Darkside.
He has continued to investigate and research haunted places throughout the United States and abroad, along with his wife, Sherry, with whom he coauthored The Gale Encyclopedia of the Unusual and the Unexplained; Real Aliens, Space Beings, and Creatures from Other Worlds; Conspiracies and Secret Societies, the Complete Dossier; and the "Miracle" series. Brad is a veteran of broadcast news magazines, ranging from Nightline to the NBC Nightly News. He is also a regular radio guest on numerous radio programs.
