Description

Success seems to be a mixture of personal efforts and luck. Will it not be worthwhile to make personal efforts more effective and also to get a little hold over luck? If we can really do this then that would surely amount to getting hold of the key that can unlock the door to success. According to Webster?s Encyclopedic Unabridged Dictionary, success has been defined as the favourable or prosperous termination of attempts or endeavours. Generally, success marks the attainment of some desired objectives such as wealth, position, honors, or the like. The desired objective may be short term like getting the movie tickets for today?s evening show, medium term like getting admission in a good college after passing out from the school, or long term like trying to fathom the meaning of life.

Preface
To be successful, we need to become success worthy. If we are not success worthy success may still be attained but it cannot be sustained. The book draws from insights given to us by neurobiology and wisdom of practical Vedanta to draw a roadmap that helps us to become success worthy. Neither familiarity with biology nor Vedanta is presumed; all you need to benefit from this book is a little will to change things for the better.
Chapter 1 outlines the three fundamental pillars of success and talks about a key that gives us control on all these three pillars. The key has to be searched and the search has to be directed within us.
To succeed in the search, we need to know a little about us. Chapter 2 gives you a brief introduction of your own constitution. It tells you not just about the physical you but also about the non-physical you and how the non-physical exercises control over the physical.
We all hear about the inscrutable ways of the destiny. If it is so, can we wrench the key of success from the hands of destiny? Chapter 3 delineates how destiny gets loaded into our system and how it is amenable to improvement through personal effort.
Destiny is like human software. We do not need a specialized course to be able to rewrite this software. Chapter 4 tells how you can rewrite this software to your advantage just by doing your everyday work, albeit after learning the art of doing the everyday work.
To get a better understanding of this software called destiny, it helps to know a bit about the mystery of rebirth. Even if you do not believe in reincarnation, you can look upon it as a working hypothesis, a practical aid that gives you a real grip on what we otherwise call as fate. Chapter 4 takes you on a guided tour of this phenomenon. It also tells you about the most practical benefits that flow from an understanding of this phenomenon irrespective of whether you take it as a matter of belief or just a working hypothesis.
Some of us do not have the patience to scrutinize the unsettling circumstances that at times seem to envelope us and to find a way out of them. Such of us either live in despair or in extreme cases resort to a short cut called suicide. Chapter 6 gives you an insight into pros and cons of this extreme action and tells you about some best practices that can be adopted to make ourselves more settled in the wake of unsettling circumstances. Unless we are stable enough to keep this body intact, how can we look for success?
Is there any limit to the extent of success that can be achieved in a lifetime? Chapter 7 tells you about the infinite potential that you possess and draws a line of action for how to tap it. Extent of success that we can achieve is commensurate with the extent of our own potential that we are able to tap. The good thing is that the potential is already within us, we do not have to go anywhere to search for it.
In Chapter 1 we talk about launching a search for obtaining the key that opens the door to success. From Chapter 2 through Chapter 7 we take a detour to get acquainted with things necessary for this search viz. the concepts of destiny, reincarnation, and infinite inner potential. We look at these concepts not as fate accompli but as parameters open to human intervention through personal effort. Chapter 6 is necessary to ensure that we do not make a hasty exit from the search we have embarked upon.
Chapter 8 picks up the thread and tells us about action points to get hold of that key to success. Chapter 9 gives some more useful tips to wrest, that key from the hands of destiny. Chapter 10 prepares you for how not to loose the gains that you make till Chapter 9 .
Chapter 11 gives you an overview of what you gain till Chapter 10 . You learn that you not only become success worthy but also joyous, contented and fulfilled.
The path that we have delineated is not through uncharted territory, it is a path that was discovered by Vedantic sages thousands of years ago and has been traveled by many people in all places and times, knowingly or unknowingly, with similar beneficial results. When you travel knowingly, progress is faster.
To benefit from this journey, you are not required to subscribe to any ideology; you are not required to have any preliminary knowledge of any technical subject. All that is needed is a little will to improve your lot and to implement the action points. By talking about presence of ample fish in some pond you cannot get a single fish. You need to go to the pond and actually fish to get a fish.
There is that old saying, if you want something in life that you already do not have then you have to do something that you are not doing already.
