Sample Book Insights:
#1 I thank God and my many students and clients who have taught me so much and who first encouraged me to put my ideas down on paper. I thank my dedicated staff at Hay House, who share my dream of disseminating books, audios, and videos that help to heal the planet spiritually, emotionally, and physically.
#2 Louise Hay’s book is the essence of a great teacher. It is also the powerful and very personal statement of a great lady. It shares some of her journey to where she is in her evolvement now.
#3 I wrote this book to share with readers what I know and teach. It incorporates portions of my little blue book, Heal Your Body, which has become widely accepted as an authoritative work on the mental patterns that create diseases in the body.
#4 We create our experiences by our thoughts and feelings. We create the situations, and then we give our power away by blaming others for our frustration. When we create peace and harmony in our minds, we will find it in our lives.

#1

I thank God and my many students and clients who have taught me so much and who first encouraged me to put my ideas down on paper. I thank my dedicated staff at Hay House, who share my dream of disseminating books, audios, and videos that help to heal the planet spiritually, emotionally, and physically.

#2

Louise Hay’s book is the essence of a great teacher. It is also the powerful and very personal statement of a great lady. It shares some of her journey to where she is in her evolvement now.

#3

I wrote this book to share with readers what I know and teach. It incorporates portions of my little blue book, Heal Your Body, which has become widely accepted as an authoritative work on the mental patterns that create diseases in the body.

#4

We create our experiences by our thoughts and feelings. We create the situations, and then we give our power away by blaming others for our frustration. When we create peace and harmony in our minds, we will find it in our lives.

#5

We treat ourselves the way our parents treated us. We scold and punish ourselves in the same way, and we love and encourage ourselves in the same way if we were loved and encouraged as children.

#6

We are all victims of victims, and they could not have taught us anything they didn’t know. If your parents did not know how to love themselves, it would be impossible for them to teach you to love yourself.

#7

We choose to incarnate on this planet at a particular point in time and space. We choose our sex, color, and country, and then we look around for the particular set of parents who will mirror the pattern we are bringing in to work on in this lifetime.

#8

Your point of power is in the present moment, and it is up to you what you are thinking and believing right now. Your thoughts and words will create your future.

#9

We get many of our beliefs from our past experiences. But the past has no power over us. We can choose what we think and feel in the present moment.

#10

We can choose not to think certain thoughts. When we refuse to think a positive thought about ourselves, our lives work less well. When we refuse to think a negative thought about ourselves, our lives work better.

#11

The four things that cause the major problems in our bodies and in our lives are blame, criticism, resentment, and fear. When you no longer think that way, these people will go elsewhere and do that to somebody else.

#12

We can change our thoughts about the past, and how we punish ourselves in the present for things that happened years ago. We must release these outdated, negative ideas and beliefs, and replace them with positive ones that support us and nourish us.

#13

When we are ill, we need to search our hearts to see who we need to forgive. The person we find it hardest to forgive is the one we need to let go of the most. Forgiveness means giving up, letting go.

#14

When I ask my clients what is going on in their lives, they usually respond with one of the following: They don’t know what they want to do; they always do what others want them to do; they are always left out; they are just a doormat; and so on.

#15

I ask my clients to make a list of five or six ways they could finish that sentence. Some find it difficult to begin, and some have so many things to write that it’s hard for them to stop. They then read the list to me one item at a time, beginning each sentence with I should. .

#16

We don’t love ourselves because we are constantly critical of ourselves and our bodies. We also don’t love ourselves because we are afraid to charge a decent price for our services, because we are afraid we won’t be good enough.

#17

We were all like that when we were babies. We had courage, we were full of love, and we knew how to really love ourselves. But then we began to listen to adults around us who had learned to be fearful, and we began to deny our own magnificence.

#18

The exercise of looking in the mirror and saying your name while accepting and loving yourself is difficult for many people. It shows me a lot about clients, and I can usually get to some of the core issues that are underneath the outer problem.

#19

We can waste a lot of energy trying to fix a problem that is not the real problem. When we feel frightened or insecure, we will often put on extra weight for protection. To spend our time berating ourselves for being too heavy is a waste of time.

#20

Some people are not ready to change, and there is no judgment. We all begin to make our changes in the right time, space, and sequence for us. I did not even begin to make my changes until I was in my forties.

#21

When a client looks into the mirror, they are always upset. They feel they are not good enough, and they criticize themselves because they have learned to believe they are not good enough. We can finally focus on the central issue: not loving the self.

#22

The real problem is not that we are not good enough, but that we feel we are not good enough. We feel we are not good enough because we believe we are not good enough. We feel unworthy and unlovable because we believe we are unworthy and unlovable.

#23

We must examine our past to take a look at some of the beliefs that have been running us. Some people find this part of the cleansing process very painful, but it need not be. We must look at what is there before we can clean it out.

#24

The next exercise is to make a list of all the negative messages you received as a child. These are the beliefs you have that are making you feel not good enough.

#25

We all have a three-year-old child within us, and we spend most of our time yelling at that kid in ourselves. We then wonder why our lives don’t work. If you were to tell a friend how much you appreciated them, how much you loved the way they looked and how bright and clever they were, how they did things differently than you, it would be easy for them to become resentful and leave you.

#26

Understanding is the key to rising above an issue and taking control of your future. If you blame someone else, you are not taking responsibility for yourself.

#27

We choose our parents. We pick them based on our spiritual evolution, and we expect them to match our patterns. When we grow up, we point our fingers at our parents and say, You did it to me! But I believe we chose them.

#28

Our childhood is influenced by many factors, including our family, teachers, friends, and neighbors. The media also has a huge impact on us. Too many products are sold by making us feel we are unworthy or wrong if we don’t use them.

#29

The question, Is it true or real. has two answers: Yes and No. It is true if you believe it to be true. It is not true if you believe it isn’t true. Our thoughts can be totally different, and our lives and experiences can be totally different.

#30

If you believe that your circumstances are out to get you, you will remain a victim. If you can connect your outer experiences to your inner thoughts, you can see that your circumstances are not out to get you.

#31

The problem is caused by a thought pattern, and thought patterns can be changed. If you don’t know what thoughts are creating your problems, you’re in the right place. Ask yourself, What kinds of thoughts am I having that create this.

#32

If we are taught as children that the world is a frightening place, we will accept everything that fits that belief as true for us. If we are taught as children that the world is a safe place, we will accept different beliefs.

#33

If we want a joyful life, we must think joyful thoughts. If we want a prosperous life, we must think prosperous thoughts. If we want a loving life, we must think loving thoughts. Whatever we send out will come back to us in the same form.

#34

The Point of Power is always in the present moment. You are never stuck. You can begin to make a shift today by choosing new thoughts and beliefs. Your thoughts and beliefs of the past have created this moment, and all the moments up to this moment.
