When I planned this work, I pondered, “If anyone feels like I once did, would they want a bulky book that needs to be studied and summarized before finding it useful?”
 
I empathetically placed myself in the reader’s position, constantly considering whether simplifying information would perhaps be more helpful. I chose to elaborate on themes only when they had the potential to significantly contribute to the positive message I wish to convey.

Preface
 
I am diagnosed with chronic depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive-compulsive personality disorder (OCPD), and an anxiety disorder causing frequent panic attacks. Compared to many other people, I do not have extremely serious conditions. However, like many chronic illnesses, they are disruptive and changed the way I live my life. As I came crashing down, I was shocked at how instantly my new challenges adversely affected my productivity and relationships!
During tumultuous years, I had to learn how to discover fulfillment again. I also came to realize that some of my conditions developed much earlier than I thought. Everything seems to come to a complete standstill when one comes crashing down. Picking up the pieces is a challenge. It was not easy for me, but after several periods of therapy at psychiatric care centers and many consultations to this day, I believe I have found a great aid to confidently start a journey to feel happy and fulfilled again.
 
At the start of my last of several admissions to psychiatric care centers in less than two years , I felt so depressingly distraught that I couldn’t think of anything to say to anyone. I told my therapist to start talking, not believing we would get anywhere. The only material we had to work with was a list I’d scribbled of feelings and emotions which I felt were like arrows painfully piercing through me, constantly. I felt confused, scared, sad, disappointed, inadequate, weak, failing, lonely, regretful, secluded, and fearful. I found myself in a state of unprecedented introspection, feeling as if I was standing at a precipice and about to fall to a point of no return at any moment.
I had reached what I believed was the last crossroads in my life, and I saw only three options ahead of me - flee, fold, or fight. It felt so ironically enticing to try and flee from my current troubles or to fold under the power of a mental and emotional pressure cooker. Yet instinctively I knew that what I had to do, was to fight; I had to fight for survival. The question I was desperate to get an answer to was, how?
 
Only when I started using the simple tool and principles described in this book did I gain traction in just a few days. I experienced satisfying growth within a few weeks. Several times since then, when I experienced periods that felt like the pits, reflection on the contents of this book helped me time and again to rise above my negative feelings and feel some relief.
My experience of personal growth in a span of only a few months due to embracing certain aids, compels me to share. Upon developing this remarkably powerful tool that worked so well for me, I set out to find reasons why it works so well. Contrary to my initial thoughts, I discovered through thorough investigation that it was not by chance that my newly formulated aid works this well. Every aspect of the research proved that the principles of this approach are substantiated, and what I discovered immediately inspired me to write this book.
 
Reaching a point in life that feels like the deepest, darkest pit we’ve ever experienced is common to so many, and sadly, some reach that point several times, or they feel that escape from it is impossible. Emotional turmoil is no joke. At that time, little, if anything, makes sense and we often have no idea where to turn to.
Most people would likely want to grab hold of any opportunity to feel great, and the void created by the lack of a great feeling could give rise to emotions that are more profound in a negative way. Such emotions easily lead to illnesses like depression, anxiety, other disorders, and even physical illnesses or addictions.
Reaching a crossroads in life poses two potential dilemmas: (1) knowing which way to turn and (2) how to keep going in that direction. It’s a relief to discover, as I did, that people have more in common than we perhaps realize, and that we can benefit from others’ experiences and struggles. Knowing that someone else discovered useful help along the way, is encouraging and provides a little light that shines at the end of what we may perceive as a long and dark tunnel.
Some may not experience such perplexing circumstances but still feel overwhelmed by several challenges they face at once. They may find it difficult to focus or they lack fulfillment. Whatever your situation, this book offers practical ways based on applying a few simple, well-researched principles to help you remain positive.
 
Often, we receive good advice, but then somehow battle to apply it. This book describes an effective aid that proves to be instrumental in applying counsel and making progress. Even so, sharing the tool described in this book would be incomplete and will lack credibility if it is not backed by sound principles. Hence, key principles are highlighted as the material develops. A simple understanding of the rationale behind the tool described herein provides needed impetus, and we’re likely to exhibit more trust as we use it. Explanations are brief and not overwhelmingly complicated. I encourage you to read other material about these themes, too, when you can.
This work is not intended to entertain critics who want to discredit its content or highlight omissions. Similarly, it is not prepared for those who thrive on intellectual contests. It is neither a science textbook nor a reference manual for therapists. Determining what professional assistance is needed for any individual is uniquely personal and should be done in consultation with qualified practitioners.
Some people are perhaps prejudiced against material that could be considered mostly theoretical. They may not enjoy reading about topics that initially seem to contain little practical value. If this is you, please give this book some benefit of the doubt. Practical application is clearly explained, promptly. Contain any possible distrust for a little while until you’ve read the book in its entirety. You will discover convincing reasons for anyone to pick themselves up from wherever they are now, no matter where they are, without wishing they could rewrite history. Prepared from the heart and moved by a genuine concern for people, it conveys my strong confidence in the rewards it delivers.
 
Sharing what I have discovered and researched that impacted me personally is the key objective of this publication. If anyone deserves credit, it should be the thousands of people who, over decades, took the time and used valuable assets to discover what can truly help us heal, grow, and experience fulfillment, and the One who gave them the strength, wisdom, and insight to do so.
Pondering carefully on the subsequent sections can help shape the much-needed solid foundation on which you can build. It can be a foundation that helps you apply specific counsel you’ve received from your consultants. It can also be a powerful tool to accelerate personal growth during other times.
 
Successfully driving forward in a vehicle requires us to keep our eyes on what lies ahead. We would quickly endanger ourselves or others if we were to look too long into the rear-view mirror, or worse, turn our heads and keep looking behind while driving forward.
Similarly, the different parts of this publication will help us to constantly look ahead with reasonable optimism instead of ruminating about how we got to where we are. We cannot change how we
