Online blogging can be a great way to generate a second income, or even a primary income, but many first-time bloggers don’t really know where to begin. They may try to create a blog using blogging websites like Blogger or WordPress, but using these free hosted blogs isn’t the best way to tackle the monetization process.
This eBook will walk you through the steps of conceptualizing, designing, registering, hosting, and creating a blog that will attract consumer attention and put money in your pocket. You’ll learn how to choose a blog topic, how to research your niche market, and how to select a domain name, register that name, and host your blog. You’ll also learn some tips for website design, search engine optimization, and content marketing.
Finally, you’ll discover the best strategies for monetizing your blog and using it to generate an impressive profit stream.
Anyone can make money by blogging. It just requires a few basic steps in the right direction.
Chapter 1
Selecting Your Website Niche Market
High levels of consistent web traffic are the key to transforming a blog of regular content into a money-making machine. Before you even consider purchasing a domain name , investing in a hosting plan , designing the site , and creating content, then, it is important to know precisely whom your blog will target. This is actually a more complicated and involved question than many first-time bloggers initially think.
The Internet is filled with content from a nearly infinite variety of industries, businesses, professionals, writers, and marketers. Your responsibility, as a profitable blogger, will be to compete with these other sources of content and create a website that will attract the attention of consumers. To accomplish this, you must spend time considering your target market.
Many successful bloggers are generating consistent traffic levels by using a strategy known as niche marketing. The word “niche” was originally used to refer to a small indentation in a wall, and a niche was typically carved to fit a very specific piece of art or an historical artifact. A home, for example, might use a niche in a wall to display a beautiful vase or a small statue. The niche is considered the permanent home for the piece of artwork, and the art fits perfectly into the provided display space.
This image can apply to your successful blog, as well. It’s important to create a place where your target audience members feel like they “fit.” The content, design of your website, method of communication, and even the name of your website should be specifically designed, or “carved out,” to fit the Internet browsing habits and needs of your audience members.
Niche marketing will allow you to create content that is specifically designed and focused to appeal to a population of consumers.
