Description

A mysterious hand has offered humanity a gift. The choice to accept or pass up on this gift is completely up to you. However you probably won’t be able to ignore it easily. The gift has puzzled many, and empowered many. It’s been vilified by politicians and bankers. It’s been glorified amongst its users and ignited a revolution that cannot be stopped. It’s the gift of hard money, unassailable property rights, a trustless accounting system, a digital bearer asset and an alternative option to the currencies of nation states. Its short name is Bitcoin.
Unfortunately there is no short answer that could fully convey how it is changing our world because it’s doing so in more ways than I can sum into a brief punchline. If you were just looking for a short catchphrase then well the best I got is… “Fix the money. Fix the world!” But if you have time to understand how it’s fixing our world you might enjoy this book!

Many brave souls have dared to stare into the void of the coin, in a journey to understand its depth, mysteries and complexities. Some have succeeded. Others have failed. It has infamously left disbelievers baffled. It has famously made its believers the new elite! The choice to push it away or pull it in can be life changing in both circumstances and opposite ways. But make no mistake. Many have ventured down its rabbit hole 2 ... Here’s the story of what I found after descending into the internet’s endless abyss of truth. I will warn you. From time to time a new technological innovation comes around that completely changes life as we know it. The wheel, the plow, gunpowder, the printing press, etc were all technologies that completely disrupted power dynamics and changed the course of civilization. The abstraction of value we know as “money” is and has always been a technology. Even capital itself is by no means immune to the natural creative-destruction process of capitalism and it too succumbs to evolutionary pressures. Money is a part of the human story. In the absence of it, we would still be a hunting and gathering nomadic collection of small groups. We’d still be living meal to meal, looking over our shoulders afraid of being made into a meal ourselves by beasts of the jungle. The evolution of money and the role of a monetary good in incentivizing productive human cooperation as w
