Foreword
By Jim Sterling
Gamers, in general, love to be tested. Not all gamers, of course. Some gamers love to collect apples, which is why Animal Crossing exists. Many gamers, however, love to be tested. The vast majority of games are designed to challenge our problem solving abilities, the dexterity of our fingers, our strategic might or the swiftness of our response to a crisis. Gaming is often competitive, and gamers are, themselves, largely a competitive species. Not only do we compete with the games themselves, but with each other in arenas of digital combat. That can be in-game, armed with an MP4 and a combat knife, or on a forum somewhere, proving you know more about Japanese RPGs than some other complete stranger.
You know more about videogames than anybody else, which is why you’re reading this, because this will help you prove it. You’ll then be able to tell NeoGAF that you are the best at knowing things about games, and you will be crowned Mayor For Life Of Games For Life. Due to the flexing of your muscular mental muscles and the demonstration of your intellectual prowess, you will have many boyfriends and girlfriends, all of whom will be in love with you forever because you were able to tell AvatarOfSin on GameFAQs something about Kingdom Hearts that he didn’t know. Well, he probably didn’t know, you never checked the thread again. You were too busy knowing lots of things about games.
Please use this book wisely, written as it was by Louie Falls, an old and dear friend of mine. I first met Louie when I was desperate to purchase a Christmas present, and stumbled into an old Chinese man’s curiosity shop. There, he sold me a mysterious box with a strange creature inside, a mogwai. I was urged to never get the mogwai wet, nor feed it after midnight, lest something terrible occur, but I was a fool who cared not for the ethical treatment of Warner Bros’ intellectual property. Fortunately, while an army of gremlin-like creatures (otherwise known as gremlins. wreaked havoc on my peaceful town, my precious mogwai stood by me. Yes, reader, as you may have already worked out by now, Louie was indeed the box that the mogwai came in.
He knows a lot about videogames, and that’s why he wrote this book. He doesn’t know as much as you know, which is why you’re reading this book. To prove something. So go, read, prove, and don’t feed your mogwais after midnight. Or at all. Just don’t feed them. Easiest way to deal with the problem.

Introduction
First I would like to thank Jim for his fantastic foreword. I’ve known Jim for a long time and I knew he wouldn’t disappoint, although the secret is now out about me being the mogwai box or whatever it was he was banging on about this time. But I have much love for him and the support he has given me over the years, especially for this book.
I would also like to thank my family and friends who have supported me. This is my first quiz book on my favourite hobby and it’s been an absolute joy to work on. I couldn’t believe how few video game quiz books were available so I jumped at an opportunity that would let me do even more research on gaming.
Finally I’d like to thank you for purchasing this book and wanting to quiz yourself or your friends, or maybe just to increase your knowledge about gaming. There are some really interesting facts within these questions and answers that you may not know, especially the hard ones. In fact, here’s a freebie that anyone who played an arcade game circa 1993 will know: Winners Don’t Use Drugs. Not my words, but the words of William S. Sessions, Director of the F.B.I.
Happy quizzing.
Louie Falls
