FOREWORD
My affinity with Stockport County began when I arrived at Edgeley Park from Sheffield United. Having come to the professional game relatively late with experience of making a living in the "real world," I quickly related to the Club and its loyal fans. Genuine football fans who had experienced hardship and disappointment, for whom it was a pleasure to strive and deliver success for over the following years. Four Wembley appearances, two promotions and wealth of experience later I was honored with an incredible testimonial celebration. Ten years had passed when I left the club to begin new adventures. My return as Manager found County five points adrift of safety, facing the reality of losing league status. I felt a mixture of anger and sadness at the demise of the club I love. Driven by deeply felt football principles, I was given the opportunity to work alongside our great backroom staff and excellent young players to share a vision. This shared determination and integrity has delivered the remarkable success of the last couple of years. A level of success the loyal supporters of this Club deserve. Culminating in our victorious win in the Play-Off Final at Wembley Stadium, earning promotion to League One. The pleasure of bringing smiles back to the faces of not only County fans, but to the town of Stockport is difficult to describe. I am truly proud. I am very pleased to have been asked to introduce this book, which I hope will provide many hours of fun for all County fans and football trivia enthusiasts alike, here’s to success in answering the questions and further success on the pitch!

INTRODUCTION
I would first of all like to thank Jim Gannon for writing the foreword to this book. Jim is a true legend for County and I am very grateful for his help on this project. I would also like to thank all the past legends of Stockport County Football Club and many current employees of the club for their comments and reviews on this book (these can be found at the back of the book). I would also like to thank Peter Wilson, Ian Watts and Des Hicks for their help and advice during the books compilation and Colin Holland for a superb cover design. I hope you enjoy this book. Hopefully it should bring back some wonderful memories! It was great working with Kevin Snelgrove for the first time, who is very well organised, between us I hope we have given you a selection of easy, medium and hard questions. In closing, I would like to thank all my friends and family for encouraging me to complete this book.
Best wishes Chris Cowlin
