FOREWORD
It is a great honour to be asked to write the foreword to ‘The
Official Sheffield United Quiz Book’ compiled by Chris Cowlin
and Kevin Snelgrove.
Sheffield United is a club very close to my heart and the team I supported as a boy so when I became manager in December 1999 it was a dream come true. Then in May 2006, taking the Blades into the Premiership as Championship runners-up was very fulfilling, the only thing that could have
topped this achievement would be for Sheffield United to win
the Premiership title.
This quiz book is a fans dream, full of fascinating facts and figures covering virtually everything! It is also an excellent reference book for people wanting to learn about this great
football club. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did it
certainly had me scratching my head! Enjoy!

INTRODUCTION
I would first of all like to thank Neil Warnock for writing the
foreword to this book. I am very grateful for his help on this project as he has always been one of my most favourite managers in the game.
I would also like to thank all the people who have provided
a comment and/or review on this book (these can be found at
the back of the book).
I would also like to thank Peter Pridmore and John Garrett at Sheffield United Football Club for their help during the books compilation.
I hope you enjoy this book. Hopefully it should bring back
some wonderful memories!
It was great working with Kevin Snelgrove again, between
us I hope we have given you a selection of easy, medium and
hard questions.
In closing, I would like to thank all my friends and family for
encouraging me to complete this book.
Best wishes Chris Cowlin
