This book contains the Gospel according to a slightly bizarre woman. We certainly don’t want to blame its content on Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John. It’s similar, but not exactly the same.
Author’s Note
This book is intended for the entertainment of Christians like myself who love to laugh at ourselves. If you die from laughter overdose after reading its content, your family will receive survivor benefits. If you die from boredom, we cannot be responsible for your lack of a sense of humor. Please read at your own risk. Sincerely, Nancy (Non-Sense) Ebersole
Preface : Four ways to use this book:
1. Each episode of the show can be read as a short story; or
2. Performed as a skit; or
3. Used as a Bible study tool by reading the story or performing the skit, looking up the scriptures, and discussing the Biblical principles and stories that are referred to in the skit; or
4. For a youth activity, the stories can be used as a competition between teams. Each team is given a list of the scriptures found at the end of the story. The list would be given out of order and without the corresponding numbers. Then each team would find the number in the story that the scriptures reference. The first team to match all the scriptures to the correct number wins the competition.
Disclaimer: The characters in these stories are fictional and are not representative of any persons you may know, unless you find the resemblance to be uncannily similar. (In that case, draw your own conclusion.)
Music: Skits can be done with or without the songs, or song lyrics can be read as poems rather than sung—whatever works for you, your church group, or other significantly bizarre friends with whom you wish to share this humorous nonsense. (In other words, no musical abilities are required.)
The skits can be done with the host sitting behind a table with guests in chairs to one side of him or her, or with a panel sitting at a table also, if appropriate.

Acknowledgments
I want to first and foremost thank our Lord for the gift of humor that allows us to laugh—sometimes to save us from ourselves! Especially, thank you Jesus, for your gift of salvation—my greatest joy—that inspired me to begin writing songs about your grace, the cross, and Heaven beginning in the 1980s.
Back in the day, when I was a Phyllis Diller wannabe, I realized it’s a wonderful thing to be able to make people laugh. Thank you, Phyllis; I learned all my husband-bashing skills from you (as well as my hideous laugh)!
More recently, I have to thank Mark Lowry and Chonda Pierce, my two favorite funny people whose humor truly inspired and motivated me to want to write the skits in this book.
I want to especially thank my husband, Ken, who spent hours at his computer writing and rewriting—and rewriting—the many changes I made to these stories, as well as scoring the music for the songs. Without his wonderful help and endless patience, this would all still be my chicken scratch on countless pieces of paper, napkins, or whatever else I could find to make notes on. Thank you; I love and appreciate you more than you will ever know.
And finally, thank you to all the staff at Westbow Press for making the publishing of this “nonsense” possible. From our first conversation on, your help has been invaluable!
Dedicated To…
I’d like to dedicate this book to each and every person who may find himself or herself reading these pages. No matter where you stand with the Lord, I pray God will use these silly stories, the songs, and the scriptures in a way that will bless you. For those close to the Lord, may you get a chuckle from something you read that will boost your spirit. For those who may not feel as close to the Lord as you once did, may something in these pages spark your interest in drawing closer to your Savior once again. And most of all, for anyone who does not know the Lord, I pray that God will plant a seed of hope and assurance in your heart that will sprout and one day lead you to a personal relationship with Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Among all the “nonsense,” there are pearls of truth from God’s own heart that He wants to share with you.
This theme song can be used with each episode, or omitted if time does not permit it to be sung with some episodes.
“Gossiping for Jesus”
Verse
Chorus
Vs. 1
There is a world outside the church,
We’ll keep gossiping for Jesus
That doesn’t understand
So we can spread the word
Why Christians get excited
We’re gossiping for Jesus,
About our promised land.
Until the whole world’s heard,
People gossip ‘bout the life
That Jesus gave His life,
Of Jesus we proclaim.
To save sinners from the fall.
Our prayer is that each one of them
We’ll keep gossiping for Jesus
Will come to own His name.
‘Til He calls.
Vs. 2
So they may keep on gossiping
About what Christians do,
But on that day of judgment,
They’ll wish they’d joined us too.
Because that day is coming,
And it could be real soon,
We’ll spread our Holy gossip
Cause we proclaim the truth.
Matt. 28:19–20
