1 round sourdough bread loaf - (1 lb) 3tablespoonsmelted butter 3clovesgarlic, minced

½lb.firm brie cheese teaspoonthyme teaspoonmarjoram 1dashcayenne pepper
With a sharp knife, cut a 'lid' from the top of the bread. Carefully remove insides, leaving a 1-inch crust.
In a small bowl, mix butter with garlic. (Time-saving tip: Microwave butter and garlic together until butter melts.) Brush the garlic butter inside the loaf.
Slice brie into cubes and place the cheese inside the loaf. Sprinkle with thyme, marjoram and cayenne pepper. Top the loaf with the reserved bread lid.
Set the brie-filled loaf on a baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees, until cheese is melted and loaf is crusty, 12 to 15 minutes.
Serve a salad while the bread is in the oven. Serve the bread hot on a large wooden cutting board set in the center of the table. Break off pieces and dip into the melted cheese.
This recipe yields 2 servings.
BAKED CELERY AND ONIONS WITH HERBS

4tablespoonsunsalted butter 1 bunch celery, cut 1inch pieces
1 ½tablespoonscornstarch 2cupschicken broth ½teaspoondried marjoram

¼teaspoondried thyme ¼teaspoonsalt ¼teaspoonblack pepper
2tablespoonsfresh parsley, minced 2 medium onions, thinly sliced
Melt the butter in a heavy 12 inch skillet over moderate heat.
Add the celery and saute, stirring occasionally for 3 minutes or until crisp tender.
In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and chicken broth until smooth and add to the skillet.
Bring to a boil, stirring. Reduce the heat to moderately low.. Simmer, stirring occasionally for 5 minutes.
Add marjoram, thyme, salt, pepper and parsley.
Preheat the oven to 350℉.
Scatter the onion rings over the bottom of a buttered 12 by 8 by 2 baking dish.
Spoon the celery mixture over them and cover tightly with aluminum foil. AT this point the casserole can be cooled to room temperature
