Dedication
I would first like to dedicate this book to God.
And to my beloved dog Blue Bear who supported me through all my surgeries for over fourteen and a half years. And for her love and loyalty. She was my lifeline.
I would also like to dedicate this book to Steven H. Woodward and the proof that he has given to the world that animals do go to heaven.
And also to all Rescuers, Shelter workers, and all those who love animals. Thank you for what you do and God bless you all!
Prologue
Every now and then a story comes along about a dog that touches the heart of a human. The story I’m about to tell you is a bitter-sweet story. It is a true story filled with happiness and some sadness. But mostly about happiness and joy as any pet owner can testify to. And not to mention the unconditional love that I was given, which I had never known before my dog Blue Bear came into my life. I have never been known to be an emotional person but that would all change when a blue and brown-eyed Siberian Husky entered my life. She changed my world forever in a way that I could have never dreamed of. And I would not change one thing even if I could. Blue Bear and I were the perfect match. This is a true story of an amazing dog named Blue Bear who taught me so much about love, life, and death.
Losing a pet is difficult. Sometimes more difficult than losing a human friend or family member. But let’s not worry about the sadness. I want to focus on the unconditional love and loyalty of owning a beloved pet. Every pet owner has that one special pet. And for me; it was Blue Bear. This is a story filled with Supernatural events that happened to me, which were all brought on by a beautiful dog named Blue Bear.
I know you will enjoy this story because I know that many of you have been through some of the same things as I have and that you have also experienced the same supernatural events such as I have had. There is nothing like the unconditional love of an animal. I thank God for sending Blue Bear to me. God bless you all.

CHAPTER ON E MEETING BLUE BEAR
“Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable g ifts.”
(2 Corinthians 9:4)
As I opened the car door my heart was racing. This was it. This was the house where I was finally going to find my Siberian Husky that I had been longing for. Why? I don’t know. It was as though something was driving me to get a husky. So I went with it. In my heart I believed it was God pushing me to adopt one of his beautiful creatures. God knew I needed a friend and a loyal companion. And God also knew that I was lonely.
I worked as a personal trainer at a neighborhood gym and when I told my manager that I was looking for a husky as luck would have it, she told me that her Husky had a litter and that I could take a look at the puppies. Perhaps this was God directing me to the dog that I longed for.
She said that they were weaned and that I could have any of them except for the female. She said that she was saving that one for her daughter. Her daughter wanted the female and she had already picked out a name for the female dog. She had given her the name Jewel. I really wanted a female dog, but perhaps I would have to settle with one of the males. I read up on dogs and found that female dogs are less aggressive, less dominant than their male counterpart and they were easier to train. And it also said that females bonded with their owner much quicker.
And so, today was the day that I was to pick out my husky. I took a deep breath as I knocked on the door and waited with anticipation. Lisa answered the door and as I stepped through the front door the female dog named Jewel jumped over the baby gate and ran leaping into my arms and licking my face. And then she strutted off as if to say, “How do you like me now? Go ahead. Pick me. I’m the one you want. I’ll show you what trouble is. But I’ll also show you what unconditional love is all a bout.”
As luck would have it, Jewel had led a charge into the laundry room and had gotten into a box of detergent. She had ripped the box open and soap powder was everywhere. This had happened while my friend was not home and she was mad! My friend said that after that episode, she did not really want Jewel because she could see that the dog was going to be a hand full but she said her daughter wanted Jewel. I told myself this was just what I was looking for. A little fireball! And Jewel was definitely a fireball. This was what I had been praying for. I was so happy. And I just knew that God had arranged to put me and Jewel together. I could feel it in my soul. And that’s when she got her name. In my mind, the dog’s name was Blue Bear now. And now, I was anxious to take Blue Bear home with me. But her daughter wanted Jewel. What could I do? And I prayed in my mind saying, “Please God. Let me have Jewel. I will take care of her and I will name her Blue Bear.”
I told my friend Lisa that I really wanted Jewel in the worst way but she told me that although she didn’t really want the dog in her house, I still had to ask her daughter. I said a prayer and asked her daughter if I could have Jewel. Her daughter said that if Jewel would come to me when I called her name then I could have her. I called her name and she came right to me and jumped into my lap and licked me. Blue Bear was mine! And I really believed that Blue Bear had laid claim to me too. I know that God had put us together.
I got the name Blue Bear while on my second trip to Alaska. While hiking on the trail I met a man with a husky. I talked with him about his dog and how I loved huskies and he told me that his husky’s name was Blue Bear. I just loved this name because it was so unique. And so, I named my new baby Blue Bear. It was the perfect name.
She was a beautiful animal. She was unique in that she had two different colored eyes. One was powder blue and the other was topaz brown and they seemed to glow as if there were a light behind them. Her fur was a mixed white-gray and black. Her face was white from her muzzle to the top of her eyes. It looked as though she had a white mask on her face. And when she looked straight at you and her ears were straight up in the air, you could see that they were snow-white on the inside and black on the backside. She had four white stocking legs and she had a majestic look about her so much so that you would have thought she was a descendant of royalty. She was beautiful!
I raced home with my new puppy full of excitement. Finally! I had my own dog. And it would not be one that I had to share with the family or anyone else. Blue Bear was going to be all mine. I couldn’t wait to get Blue Bear home and let her get acclimated to her new home. I would have to learn all about huskies if I wanted to raise her right. And I planned to do my best at it. And I felt that I was more than ready for it.
If you have ever owned a Siberian Husky before, then you know how awesome they are. I just had to have one after watching the movie “Iron Will.” The lead husky of a dog sled team raced through the snowy Minnesota Wilderness in 1897 risking his life to save some children whose lives were in danger and it was at that moment that I just knew that I had to have a husky. I marveled as I thought, “Wow! That’s the dog I want. And they are so beautiful and majestic. This will be easy. How hard could it be to take care of this wonderful and beautiful crea ture?”
