Edmundo Lassalle, who was born in 1914, was offered a job with the Office of Strategic Services in August 1942. He had graduated from the National University of Mexico in 1934, and had studied at Columbia University. He was offered a position with the Pan American Union in 1941, but he was not a US citizen.
