Biographical Facts Cheryl was born on the 30 th of June 1983. This means that her star sign is Cancer. Typical traits of this star sign include being compassionate and caring, but often displaying wildly changing moods. Her full name - before getting married - was Cheryl Ann Tweedy. She was born in Newcastle upon Tyne and grew up on nearby council estates in Walker and Heaton. Cheryl’s mother is called Joan Callaghan and her father Gary Tweedy. She has four siblings; three are from her mother’s marriage to another man before meeting Gary. Her parents separated when Cheryl was just eleven years old - a very difficult age to cope with such heartache. Cheryl rose to fame as a member of Girls Aloud, a group formed through the TV show Popstars: The Rivals. She has since gone on to have a successful solo career, and won new legions of fans with her appearances as a judge
