If I ain’t got nothing
I got you
If I ain’t got something (I don’t give a damn)
Cause I got it with you
I don’t know much about algebra (but I know)
One plus one, equals two
And it’s me and you
That’s all we’ll have when the world is through
I knew this Beyoncé song was probably the wrong song to walk down the aisle to on my wedding day, but it was the song that reminded me of the love Josiah and I shared. Even though he and I had been through hell and back since we were younger, we still made it this far. We’ve gotten past all the bullshit and everything else that life has thrown our way. And now, on today, December 17 th , in a Winter Wonderland wedding, I was marrying my best friend, the love of my life. Josiah Whitehead.
I looked at my bridesmaids, the two flower girls, and the ring bearer, and smiled. After looking at them, I looked up at the ceiling, and smiled. Everything that I had envisioned was right in front of me. There was snow on the ground, snowflakes hanging from the ceilings and from the sides of every other chair. The chairs that didn’t have snowflakes hanging from them, white roses were glued down to then. When I tell y’all Amber did the damn thing, I mean that. She had outdone herself. And even though she was already paid, I was giving her some more money because of the wonderful job she had done. Not to mention, she was easy as hell to deal with, and I didn’t make anything any easier for her.
After looking around, I looked down at my dress. The moment I laid eyes on my all white dress, the white diamond hearts sparkled as my eyes made eye contact with them. The back of the dress had a big ass bow that ran down to the tail of the dress. I swear, this was by far the most beautiful dress I had ever seen.

‘Cause baby we ain’t got nothing, without love
Darling you got enough for the both of us
So come on baby, ma-
The song stopped right in the middle of Beyonce’ singing, which caused me to stop walking and look around. I know this bullshit wasn’t about to happen. Tears formed in my eyes as I stood there, just staring around.

“ When I first saw you, I said “Oh my”
I said “oh my, that’s a dream, that’s my dream”
I needed a dream when it all seemed to go bad
Then I found you, and I have had the most beautiful dreams
Any man’s ever had.”
Hearing that song play, I looked around until my eyes landed on Josiah, who had a mic in his hand. If he didn’t have that mic in his hand and his lips weren’t moving, I wouldn’t have believed that it was him singing. Out of all the years we’ve been together, I never knew he knew how to sing. Later on, after the ceremony was over, his ass had a lot of explaining to do.
“Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to join Josiah and Londyn in matrimony. Commended to be honorable among all; and therefore, is not to be entered into lightly, but reverently, passionately, lovingly, and solemnly. Into this, Josiah and Londyn come to be joined together. If any person can show just cause why these two may not be joined together, let them speak now or forever hold their peace.”
Both Josiah and I looked around, wanting to see if anybody had the balls to ruin our special day. After about a minute, he and I looked at one another before looking back up at the pastor. Just as he was about to open his mouth, the doors of the church opened and a woman walked in.
“What the fuck?” I heard Josiah mumble to himself.
I would have looked at him, but my eyes were trained on the unfamiliar woman who was walking down the aisle as if she was on a mission.
“I know why these two shouldn’t get married.” She spoke loud enough for everyone in the church to hear her. Never once did she make eye contact with me, she kept her eyes on Josiah.
“Um, who are you?” I asked her, finally after what felt like forever.
“Oh, you don’t know who I am? Josiah Whitehead, you didn’t tell her who the hell I am?” The woman asked, finally looking at me. “So you didn’t tell your soon to be wife who I am.” I didn’t like the way she said soon to be wife.
Just as I was about to open my mouth and ask her if she knew something I didn’t, Josiah spoke.
“Janecia, now isn’t the time for this shit,” he told her. The way he looked at her, I was sure her ass would have dropped dead if looks could kill.
“What do you mean now isn’t the time? When will be the right time? I’ve been waiting since you came home for you to be a man about shit!” the woman yelled with tears in her eyes.
By this time, everyone in the church was mumbling. Just like me, they were trying to figure out what the hell was going on, and who the hell this woman was.
“Josiah, will you please tell me what the hell is going on?” I snapped, looking from the woman to Josiah, who was looking at me with the saddest look in his eyes.
“Since he won’t tell you what’s going on, I will. Matter of fact, I can show you better than I can tell you.” She turned around and was about to open her mouth, but Josiah spoke again.
“Jane, don’t do this shit,” Josiah mumbled as he took a step toward her.
“You left me with no choice,” the woman said, looking at Josiah before turning back toward the entrance of the church. “Maurice! Bring her in!” she yelled out.
Bring who in? Who in the hell was Maurice? This shit was about to piss me off. If somebody didn’t explain to me what the hell was going on, I was ten seconds away from beating this bitch ass for ruining my damn day. Just as I was opening my mouth to ask one last time, I saw a man walk in the church with a little girl in his arms. The closer they got, the more my heart rate sped up.
“Josiah can’t marry you because not only do we have a child together, but he’s also married to me,” Janecia said and flashed a ring up so that I could see it. I looked from the ring, to the woman, then finally to Josiah.
“Josiah, please tell me you didn’t,” I mumbled as the tears fell down my face before I could stop them.
I saw Josiah’s lips moving, but I didn’t hear anything coming out of them. At that moment, the room started spinning around, and it felt as if my world was crashing down on me before I knew it. I was starting to get dizzy. Just as I mov
