CHAPTER ONE
“Doverbearing stepfather, J-Lo, mumbled under his funky ass breath as he sat on the amn, I like the way that tight pussy is sitting up in them shorts,” Kaci’s rude and couch with a Bud Light between his legs watching her walk by. Kaci was only seventeen years old, but her body was fully developed. She was used to grown ass men lusting over her thick, plump ass cheeks and perky C-cup sized breasts. Her titties were so perky that Kaci hardly ever wore a bra. Not only did she have a body that could make a blind man see, but she had the face to match. Her beautiful, coconut skin complexion was smoother than baby hair. Her own natural hair was silky and curly just like baby doll hair. She often wore her sideburns and baby hair out like Chilli from TLC. Her dimples were deeper than Lauren London’s, and her eyes were deep and hypnotic. Whenever Kaci stepped on the scene, she broke a nigga’s neck as well as his pockets. Although she had big dreams of owning her own nail salon, Ka ci was dealing with the real world at the moment. Stripping and tricking were her business until she could save up enough money to rent out of a building for her nail shop. It was common for men to want to stick their dicks inside of her young pussy, but it was uncommon for her mama’s nigga to sit on the couch w ith a dick harder than ninth grade algebra, lusting over her body when he knew better. “What the fuck you said?” Kaci asked, stopping in her tracks and jerking her neck in J-Lo’s direction. J-Lo was so turned on by Kaci’s feistiness that he couldn’t help but lick his lips. That type of shit really turned him on. Sometimes, he would start some shit just to hear her high pitched voice curse him the fuck out. Kaci wasn’t feeling the shit at all and didn’t mind setting his ass straight if her mama didn’t have the heart to do it herself. Keeping his eyes glued to Kaci’s fat pussy print in her white shorts the whole time, J-Lo snatched the cold beer from between his legs and put the rim of the bottle up to his lips. In a very perverted manner, J-Lo stuck his long, thick tongue in the ho le of the bottle and twirled it around. It was his way of trying to tell Kaci that he wanted to eat her pussy. “Sick dick muthafucka!” Kaci yelled, trying her best not to leap over the couch and jab J-Lo in the face a few times. “You better watch who the fuck you talkin’ to, bitch!” J-Lo shot back with a now serious look in his eyes. Just like that, J-Lo could switch up quicker than a mood ring. He liked to joke and play mind games but could immediately turn into your worst nightmare. However, Kaci didn’t budge. She wasn’t impressed by his large muscles or the fire in his eyes that told her he wanted to punch her all the way into next week.
Kaci refused to fold, and she was down for whatever fight she had to put up. She would gladly get knocked out cold in order to stand her ground and let this nigga know that she wasn’t going to take his shit, regardless of who the fuck he thought he was. This nigga was beyond disrespectful and abusive. Kaci’s mother, Karen, was so scared of him that she would often let him get away with violating her and anyone else in the house, including Kaci’s nine-year-old brother, Rodrick. “No, I ain’t gotta watch shit, disrespectful ass ni gga! You might whoop on my mama behind closed doors, but you ain’t gon’ whoop on me, and that’s facts! No caps! Put ya hands on me if you want to. It ain’t nothing to speed dial a nigga.” Karen heard the commotion from the kitchen, so she dropped the spatula and ran into the living room where she saw her man standing up in her daughter’s face as if he was ready to whoop her ass. “J-Lo, please!” Karen begged. Her eyes were heavy with bags due to all the stress she was under. She was tired of the chaos that took place in her home every single day. “Shut the fuck up!” J-Lo yelled, pointing his index finger in Karen’s direction. If she didn’t shut up talking to him, there would b e hell to pay, so she shut her mouth as instructed. Karen loved her daughter, but she was torn between protecting her and remaining silent. It was in her best interest to shut the hell up in order to protect her own skin from the wrath that J-Lo would soon wreak. Before meeting J-Lo five years back, Karen was finally starting to come out of the depression of Emmett, her husband and father of her two children, Kaci and Rodrick, passing. Emmett owned several businesses and made sure to leave a nice chunk of change to his wife and kids. Karen was doing pretty well with budgeting the money until J-Lo stepped into the picture. For the first year, he was charming, but he slowly began to turn her world upside down. J-Lo spent most of Emmett’s money gambling and buying drugs and liquor, putting her family in debt, and Kaci resented him for it. A part of Kaci even resented her mama for letting another nigga who wasn’t her daddy come in and ruin their lives. At the same time, she knew that her mama needed her, so she tried her best not to clash. While Kaci, her mama, and J-Lo stood in the middle of the living room arguing, Kaci’s little brother, Rodrick, lay in bed with his headphones plugged into his ear, trying to drown out the sound. There was so much rage in his heart that his light complexion was turning bright red. He hated J-Lo’s guts, and every day, he wished that he would just drop dead. Rodrick was too small to fight J-Lo, and he found that out the hard way after he was flung across the room for trying to pull him off his mama one night. Knowing that he couldn’t fight him, Rodrick began t o do pushups and shadow box because eventually the day would come when he was big enough to go toe to toe with him. He owed it to his father to be the real man of the house and protect his sister and mama. As he listened to his music, Roderick wiped the tears from his face and sighed heavily. “You know what?” Kaci said, throwing her arms up in the air and shaking her head. “I don’t have time for this shit. I’m about to hit the streets an d make some money. Somebody in this raggedy muthafucka gotta work!” Kaci yelled, side eyeing J-Lo. “Kaci, baby, wait,” Karen pleaded as she followed her daughter to the front door. Kaci rolled her eyes, opened the door, and walked into the driveway. “Kaci, wait!” “What?” Kaci yelled as she turned around to face her mama.
Karen nervously ran her fingers through her brittle hair, sighed, and glanced behind her as if she was afraid that J-Lo would walk up on her. “Ignore him, Kaci. You know how he is, baby.” “So, because I know that this nigga is a fuckin’ pervert, I’m supposed to give his ass a pass?” Kaci asked with her eyebrows raised. She was in disbelief at how weak her mama was over this nigga. When her daddy was alive, Karen was full of life. She was strong and independent, but J-Lo preyed on her grief and spent the next five years breaking her down until there was no more hope or common sense left in her. Kaci refused to become that same woman. She might’ve been young, but she wasn’t going to sit back like a fool and let a man run or ruin her. As far as she was concerned, there was no time for love, especially if it was going to turn her into the broken woman that her mama was. It was up to her to make sure that her family ate, even if that meant tricking with a nigga and going into his pocket. That was the only thing she was concerned about. Kaci was now the bread winner, and if she didn’t pu t food on the table for her brother, they would starve to death. “Why you lettin’ him do you like this, Mama? You used to be so cool. You had yo’ own, and you never needed a man, not even daddy. But now you let yourself go. That nigga ain’t even worth it. If you gon’ let a nigga treat you any kind of way, at least make sure he got some money.” “I’m fine, baby, I promise,” Karen replied in a low tone and put her head down in shame. Deep down inside, Karen knew that her child was right about her, but she was trapped. Her self-esteem was at an all-time low, and it was hard to pick herself back up. J-Lo was constantly tearing her down by telling her that she was worthless. If he wasn’t verbally abusing her, he was beating her silly. She wanted to get out but felt like she wouldn’t make it if she did leave. What was really painful was the fact that her own seventeen-year-old daughter had more heart than her. She was smarter and a better woman than she was. While Kaci and Karen stood in the middle of the driveway, Kaci’s best friend, Tekita, pulled up in her white Nissan Altima. Kaci looked at the car, rolled her eyes, and smacked her lips. “Look, I gotta go get some money. I’ll be back in the morning. Since you don’t want to leave, at least try not to let this nigga kill you.” Kaci knew that her words hurt her mama and even hated speaking to her in that way, but at the same time, she wanted her to know that she wasn’t down with this shit at all. Someone had to be the stronger woman, and if Karen didn’t want to, it was up to her to carry the torch until she could pull them out of this fucked up situation. Without saying anything else, Kaci swayed her hips toward Tekita’s vehicle and hopped in the passenger seat. As she watched her daughter speed off, Karen wiped tears from her eyes and sighed heavily. She then turned her fragile body around and walked back up the driveway. As soon as she opened the door, J-Lo’s fist quickly connected to her right cheek. Caught off guard, Karen stumbled and fell flat on her ass in the middle of the doorway. “So, you let that little bitch talk to me any kind of way?” J-Lo yelled as he stood over Karen’s body with his large fists clenched. Holding the right side of her now swollen face, Karen looked up at J-Lo with fear in her eyes, but before she could speak, J-Lo grabbed a fist full of her hair with his right hand and slammed the door with his left. Now that Kaci was gone, she didn’t have protection. She was at the mercy of J-Lo, and there was
nothing she could do about it.
CHAPTER TWO
W hat got you so pressed, bitch?” Tekita asked and passed her blunt to her bestie. “That sorry ass piece of a so-called man my mama go t in her house taking up space and good air,” Kaci replied and rolled her eyes. “That nigga still there? I thought yo’ mama would’ve been kicked his ass out.” Tekita laughed. Tekita was always on the same page as Kaci when it came to different subjects, and that was the reason they clicked so well. Being friends since the sixth grade, they confided in each other. Tekita was just as beautiful as Kaci was. They shared similar facial features and often claimed each other as sisters. Already eighteen years old, Tekita was only a few months older than Kaci. Her body was much curvier but she was shorter than Kaci. The girls were so close that when you saw one, you saw the other. Although they weren’t celebrities in real life, they both knew how to shut the internet down with sexy Instagram pictures. Kaci and Tekita knew how to dress their asses off, never wearing the same outfit twice. People who knew them referred to them as the ying yang twins because they were attached at the ass. “So, what we doing for your eighteenth birthday? You know me and Toy got one month to plan,” Tekita said, changing the subject. The last thing she wanted to talk about was a broke nigga who contributed nothing to her best friend’s mother. She wanted to talk about the positive because she believed in the universe, and what you put into it was very important. Kaci took a few hits of the blunt, cleared her thro at, and said, “I want to go to Miami, but I don’t know yet.” “Toy keeps saying that’s where the money at.” Toy was another one of Tekita’s good friends. Kaci wasn’t too fond of her, but she chose to put up with her on the strength of Tekita. Toy was wilder than Kaci and Tekita put together and lived life on the edge. She fucked without condoms, got in cars with strange men, and didn’t seem to be as alert as Kaci. Kaci, however, dealt with her, but only from a distance. She didn’t mind her coming to Miami for her birthday because they were going to another state that she had never been to. The more bitches, the better. “Shit, Houston is lit too, though,” Kaci said with a shrug. “Yeah, but we need to see some new niggas and new money.” “True,” Kaci replied, nodding her head. She had never been to Miami and didn’t think a little change would hurt. Besides, she needed to escape the drama in her home. Maybe visiting the sunshine state could brighten her mood and change
