Introduction
The three stories in this book are not related to one another in theme, but they all allow children to grow into better readers. The first story, “Anna and the Magical Horse,” is about a little girl and a toy horse. At night, she dreams of riding the horse to wonderful places. The horse is happy with this—until he learns that he is able to help others do the same thing. This can be a read-aloud story.
The second story, “Henry the Hobo,” is about a toy doll that is teased because his clothes are worn and his face is dirty. He later learns that love is deeper than clothes or looks. Henry also learns that love continues—regardless of what others say or do. Love is about keeping and sharing forever.
The last story is “The Pond.” It’s a fun read about animals and critters around a pond and the stories they tell about their lives. It’s a story for children a little older than the two other stories in the book.
I hope you enjoy these stories as much as I enjoyed writing them. Your children may read them alone, or you may read them to your children.
