“Baby girl, what are you doing in the bathroom? You have been in there for a minute. I thought you said you were going to blow my mind.”
“I am, boo. Just give me a minute to freshen up, and when I come out, I am going to rock your world. Do you hear me, baby?”
“Yeah, I hear you. Just hurry the fuck up.”
“Baby, I got to go because this fat muthafucka is sweating me. Are you in position? I swear I don’t want to fuck this fat muthafucka, so please don’t let me down.”
“I got you. Just stick with the plan, and don’t worry about a thing. Okay, love you. Bye.”
“Here I come hoping you are ready for all this.”
“I’m more than ready.”
What he doesn’t know is Diamond has been conversing with her lover to set him up. He is unaware of the dark figure that’s been lurking outside his mansion to take him out. Diamond and her lover have been working on this lick for months: studying his every move and learning his likes and dislikes, his drinking habits, and all the women—from the clothes, shoes, and their makeup. They put in work for this score, and tonight, it is finally paying off.
Diamond had made her move at the club by casually switching past him in her six-inch stilettos and Dolce & Gabbana pantsuit. The suit hugged every bit of her 5’5” frame, showing off her 46-cup breasts, 25-inch waist, and 50-inch ass. Diamond knew she had it going on. The trick was to make him know it. Her plan worked when Domingo stopped her.
“Senorita, que paso.”
“Listen. I don’t talk that Spanish shit, so if you want to holler at me, speak English or don’t speak at all.”
“Okay, okay. I feel you. I like you. You are feisty. I like feisty, beautiful, thick chocolate women.”
“Oh yeah? How much am I worth and not just a drink?
“For sure. You order the drink, and I’ll buy it.”
“Anything?”
“Anything.”
“Big spender, huh?”
“I guess you got it like that, huh? You better ask somebody who I am.”
“Who are you?”
“My name is Domingo Alvarez, but my friends call me Dom.”
“Like in the Fast and Furious movie?”
“Yeah, something like that. You are Diamond, like expensive.”
“Yeah, something like that.”
Diamond and Dom spent the rest of the night together, laughing, drinking, and having a good time. Diamond thought to herself, If things were different, she and Dom might have made a good couple. She already knew he was just a job. Coming out of her thoughts, she heard the announcement, “Last call for alcohol.” She knew that the club would be closing soon.
“Diamond, do you want another drink?”
“No, I’m good.”
“Are you ready to bounce?”
“Yeah, but to be honest, I’m looking for my ride.”
“You mean to tell me all this time we have been kicking it? You have been here with a nigga?”
“No, it isn’t like that. I came with my girlfriend, and now, I don’t see her.”
“My bad. Just chill for a second. When we get outside, you can see if you see her.”
“Alright, I can do that.”
“You see her?”
“No, I don’t, so what am I going to do? I guess I could take a cab home.”
“I can take you home if you like.”
“No offense, Dom. You cool and all, but it’s not that type of party.”
“Chill the fuck out. I was kicking it with you all night, and I feel sort of guilty that your girlfriend left you. This is my way of easing my conscious, you feel me.”
“I feel you. What hooptie are we riding in?”
“You go jokes, huh? It’s all good so follow me.” Dom walked her over a block to a black CL500 Benz with the big body custom 22s.
“Alright. I see you, player. You got me eating my words.”
“Thought so. Now get in and tell me where I’m going.”
“I live in Buckhead.”
“That’s cool. I know how to get there. Diamond, tell me something, and don’t take this the wrong way. What is a pretty woman like yourself doing living in that part of the city?”
“That’s just the hand I was dealt, but my situation is going to change real soon.”
All the time, Dom was unaware of the hidden message in her sentence as he drove her home. He didn’t realize he was being followed by her so-called friend, who left her at the club. They rode in silence, each with their own thoughts.
Dom was thinking about what he can do or say to get Diamond back to his crib. Diamond was thinking about how she was going to spend the money that she was about to rob Dom.
Dom pulled up to her crib and asked her, “This is it?”
“Yeah, but I still don’t see my girlfriend’s car. It’s also dark inside and I don’t have a key.” Diamond said this but was lying to Dom.
“Why don’t you try calling her?”
“Good idea,” Diamond replies. She takes out her cell phone and dials a random number hoping nobody answers. She gets no answer, so she leaves a voicemail.
“Listen, Diamond, I know you don’t know me like that, but since you can’t get in your crib, come back with me to mine.”
This is just the break Diamond was hoping for, but she had to play the role and not look thirsty. “Excuse me. What do you mean I can go with you to yours?”
“It’s late. You can’t get in your crib. I also wouldn’t feel right, just putting you out.”
“I’ll go, but don’t think you’re going to hit this tonight.”
“I hear you,” Dom replies, knowing the game. After seeing where she lives, he already knew she was impressed with his riches. Dom had to keep showing off his wealth, knowing that his baby mansion would be the thing to get her attention.
He didn’t know Diamond was aware of the mansion. She had been there several times after following him there. Diamond and her lover both know the ins and outs of the big, beautiful, and entertaining mansion.
As they drive into the long, winding driveway, Diamond mentions how gorgeous the property is on the land. Diamond continues to act as if she is surprised and impressed with the quite eye-catching property.
Dom asks her if she likes it, and she responds, “I like. Dom, I knew you were doing it big, but I didn’t think you were doing it this big.”
“I’m just doing a little something, something.” He pulled into his three-car garage where his yellow Range Rover sits along with his prize possession, a platinum Bentley with a grey interior.
“Damn, baby, you are living large all right!”
“If you play your cards right after tonight, you will too.”
Under her breath, Diamond whispered to herself, “More than you’ll ever know.”
Dom led her through the garage, the spacious kitchen, the well-furnished living room, and up the stairs to his bedroom.
“Dom, I told you that it wasn’t going down like that.”
“Diamond, stop fronting. I know you want to be a part of these riches, and you know what you must do to get them.”
“Alright, baby. Let me go freshen up for you. I’ll be right back.”
“Here I come, baby. Are you ready for all this ass?” Dom was butt-ass naked in the bed when Diamond came out of the bathroom. He motioned for her to climb in the bed, but before she could, a figure dressed in all black came crashing through the window. Dom knew he’d never get a chance to sleep with Diamond.
CHAPTER 1
Fifteen years later, Patrick Jackson was hanging out with an old friend, Andre McGee. They grew up in Freeport, Illinois, together, running the streets, and doing what kids do.
Early on in life, Patrick knew he and Dre were opposites. He grew up with a mother and father while Dre didn’t. Trying to teach Dre what he was taught by his parents. Dre, being a male, does what he wants, not listening to Patrick. He guesses because they were the same age, he didn’t need to listen to Pat. However, he continued to be his friend until Dre dropped out of school, leaving Patrick to graduate without him.
Patrick went on to college and became a lawyer. He heard stories about his old friend while attending Moore House. He would call and visit from time to time, asking Dre’s siblings or friends about what he has been up to. Patrick would get the same answer every time he asks about Dre, “I haven’t seen him.” He would tell them to let Dre know that he is looking for him.
Nobody has seen or heard from Dre for years. Patrick came back to his hometown to practice law for some time. When Patrick decided to leave his hometown to move
