Description

Poetry and Rhymes - Over 50 Beautiful Full Color Illustrations That Will Serenade the Sole of the Caring-Valiant and selfless men and women have fought and died for our country for centuries – and they continue to fight for us today. This book of poetry and rhymes exemplifies Perry Ritthaler thoughts of insanity, addiction and also politics connected to life overseas at war, but it also gives a voice to soldiers who cannot air their views on the military situation in Iraq for fear of retribution. Perry Ritthaler shows us with his gentle, kind, loving words the courage, patriotism, and the painful challenges to overcome for these men and women who have defended our country.
With his evocative words and smooth pentameter, Perry Ritthaler Poetry to Caress the Soul does just that, as well as warming the heart, pleasing the eyes, and soothing the mind. The language of poetry, the sensitivity, the evocative imagery, the tender and descriptive phrases and words about faith, love and animals, translates easily from any language the world over, and nowhere is this more evident than in, "Poems And Rhymes Exploring Animals, Politics, Soldiers, Faith, Love, Addiction, And Insanity."

Poems and Rhymes
The Beautiful Lonely Brown Fox

The sky is a shade of blue with low clouds that create a foggy haze
A week ago I read the hunting notice; a little fox will die in a few days
The word on the street is of killing after the fox and hunters meet
Today the farmer’s forest appears dense with trees as I watch and take my seat

I hear the hunters’ horn sound, and the hunt is on to kill a lonely brown fox
A beautiful animal cornered by hunters creating a brutal death in a box
From all four corners in the forest they shout and slowly walk
I watch the big dogs run and I can hear the dogs bark and hunters talk

The hunting of the beautiful fox is illegal today
But no one stops the hunting of the small brown fox on this unhappy day
I have a camera and plan to take pictures of the hunters committing a crime
A deadly act of violence stalking an innocent animal that takes little time

I hear a shot and see something running fast beside the trees
I feel sorry for the lonely fox running away in the cold breeze
I run through the trees and see drops of blood on the rocks at my feet
The cruel hunters and wild dogs will kill the fox and will not retreat

The fox is so little and has not hurt anyone big or small
My body goes tense; I fear the small fox can only limp or crawl
I wonder if he is wounded someplace in his body creating massive pain
Then I hear a mean hunter yell, I will whip the fox with my chain

I feel helpless as I chase the small fox caught in this deadly box
I yell loud to try and stop the hunters and dogs attacking the little brown fox
I feel brave and will not stop even if this fight sends me to my grave
The hunters yell at me and start to get angry and rave

The helpless brown fox is cornered in a small hole in a rotted log
I see the fox with his sad eyes filled with fear of the dog
I kick the fighting dog trying to bite the little brown fox
I see hunters closing in and now I am hunted like the fox in the deadly box

I make my stand snapping pictures as I hear their command
This is not what I expected on this day or what I planned
I hear a gunshot fired into the air and all look at me and stare
I am shaking inside but I am prepared to fight and do not care

I look down to see the small fox shivering alone in the cold
I kneel down and block the hole to the rotted log covered in mold
I am making my stand, and refuse to let them hurt the small fox again
The hunters shout at me and swear at me as they start to complain

The hunters’ eyes look cold and cruel filled with lust to kill
I hear the fox start to cry and whimper and I tell the little fox to sit still
What will I do? They want the fox dead and they may even hurt me
I have made my stand to protect the fox and now we will see

The group is losing momentum and fear the small camera in my hand
I think the fox and I will be safe as we make our final stand
I hear no more sounds coming from the log and look back
Suddenly I feel the wild dog bite me as I feel the attack

The wild dog has teeth that are sharp and bite
Fear fills my veins as I fight for my life using all of my might
I see blood oozing out of the punctured hole in my hand
Then I punch the evil dog in the nose making my stand

I hear the horn blow and the dog retreats without a sound
They have a new hunt, I here them say another fox is found
I watch them run away and wonder if this little brown fox
Will ever be caught in another terrifying hunter’s deadly box

I see the bullet created a small flesh wound hitting the fox on the left paw
We are both wounded; as I look up I hear a big black crow caw
I think he watched the battle of the wild dog and I fight
As I saved the little brown fox from death using all of my might

You Light Up My Life Like The Fireworks In The Sky

Whatever happened to a passion I could live for?
What became of the flame that made me feel more?
When did I forget that...I was made to love you?
I was made to find you and for you to feel my love too

I was made just for you, made to adore you
I was made to be loved and loved by you too
Our special love resides in a glance from our eyes
Under the wonderful heavens within the blue skies

At times I feel so in love with you, tears flow from my eyes
I feel complete knowing we live for truth and never tell lies
Safe in your arms feeling your special love, sharing our wisdom
When I am sad you cheer me up helping me not feel like the victim

You fill my heart with desire when you are near
Our beautiful love creates positive feelings crystal clear
The chemistry of two souls happy or sad mix love into one
When we make passionate love, both of us feel we have won

Together we fix our conflicts to create more love and fun
Building a more powerful relationship like the phoenix rising in the sun
Watching our love explode like fireworks in the sky
Creating our love through passion until the day we die

Lazy Days Spent In My Special Chair

My name is Fred and I live my life without many worries on my mind
My owners are special and always provide me my food and treat me kind
I am growing older by the day and my joints feel stiff when it rains
My fifteenth birthday has come and gone and today my legs are full of pains

I am told by my owners to eat special food that will help me stay strong
I hate the taste and eat it all when I am hungry, because I know they’re not wrong
They really try to keep me alive and yet someday soon I may die
I hope I go fast with not much pain and I really don’t want to whimper or cry

I am a proud dog used too running wild in my youth basically free
Now I enjoy this soft chair and barely move hardly able to see
My hearing seems to be ok; it is my eyesight that troubles me
I hear a stranger’s car pull into the yard yet I cannot see who it could be

I am afraid my days of being a good guard dog have passed me by
I feel pains in parts of my body and that is no way to die
I want to go peacefully without pain living out my final days until I die
Death seems to occupy my mind these days and I wonder why

The neighbors’ dog Charlie lived till he was fifteen and then he was hit by a car
I wonder sometimes if Charlie walked on purpose across the road too far
He was sick and he showed no fear when it was his time to die
Perhaps I will meet Charlie in dog heaven way up high in the sky

Another Beautiful Day

The sky is light blue with one big grey fluffy cloud
The warm wind is blowing in my ear and the distant thunder sounds loud
I smell the rain in the air, and I think the rain is coming toward my home fast
I hope this rain today is more like a mist and falls softly and will last

I see a beauty in the many colored flower petals as the images kiss my eyes
Flying around the flowers I see yellow and black honey bees and a few flies
I watch them slowly fly around-and-around in the warm sunlight having fun
The experiences of spreading pollen from flower-to-flower all day has been won

When I see the old trees I planted years ago standing tall I feel proud
Looking into my beautiful garden makes me want to sing out loud
I spend many enjoyable hours removing weeds and grooming my flower patch
Planting my flowers carefully making sure the garden colors all match

I enjoy feeling the gentle rain and warm sunshine touch my face
Watching the soft rain remove the dust on the flowers then evaporating without a trace
The beautiful colors I see amaze me and my new flower blooms are growing fast
When the soft rain mixes with warm sunshine I know the flowers will last-and-last

My red and white roses are beautifully colored when in full bloom
The many flowers are so large in my garden I am running out of room
My garden provides my mind with a feeling of peace within creating my happy day
Like the small children in the neighborhood create fun running in the yards as they play

I See The War Ended For Some

The days in the Iraq desert are scorching hot and the nights are cold
I have been sent here to fight and I am not very old
I have taken the training and learned how to use many guns
The war created is over democracy and to avenge the falle
