Description

Jett is tickled!  She won the deal struck between her and husband, Dru Simon, by completing their sellout - When Stars Collide Tour - as well as composing and singing Mirror – Mirror, which turns out being deemed ‘Love Song of the Decade’.  These accomplishments, per the deal, grant Jett premium ranch time, a grand shopping trip, and the cruise of her choice.  YES!  Life is good!

However, upon returning home, Jett discovers that a little brush with the law that she encountered before the cruise has gotten out of hand.  Thus, leaving Karin, Charisse, and Jemma to cover-up the damage without any of the husband’s knowledge.

And now, due to Karin’s not-so-quick-wit, Jett’s stuck facing another tour.  Therefore, the Queen of Contrariness, as Dru calls his wife, is forced to fly.  FLY? Jett feels damn certain that women at the ripe age of forty-one don’t fly!  At least not the kind of flying her husband and sons have conjured up in their misconstrued male minds!

And that, along with helping to raise five, ornery as all get-out, grandchildren has made Jett’s life even more challenging.  But hell?  What’s a Tonsil Fairy to do?

Then later, another question arises.  Would Jett leave a man to die without giving her utmost to save him, even if he is an immense pain in her butt?

Yes, Jett’s trials and tribulations continue to go on in Letting Go – JUST JETT Series Book IX.

CHAPTER 1
Upon arriving back in Los Angeles after their stupendous When Stars Collide Tour, Jett and Dru Simon returned to work at their company, Royal Records. Kissing his wife in front of his office, Dru then watched as she walked up the hallway with her little Yorkie, Fancy, at her heels.
"Quit lookin’ at our woman’s ass and get in here," Alek said, sitting in front of Dru’s desk with his feet propped up.
"I’m still not sharing her with you, but what’s up, mate?" Dru grinned.
"I gave some thought to the talk we had at Lansbury Lane. And I don’t think it would be wise to stir up all Baby’s phobias," Alek advised.
"I have no intention of stirring them up. I plan on handling them individually."
"Face it, Zip, you won’t live that long," Alek chuckled.
"Well, I may not get ‘round to all of them. However, I’ll oversee the most important ones as soon as we return from Paris."
"And why are we going to Paris, may I ask?"
"To take Jett shopping, of course," was Dru’s response. "The little shit won the deal we had and came through with a dynamite album and tour. I also should add that Mirror - Mirror, which you know she wrote specifically for me, has been deemed the love song of the decade. Damn, I love my wife," he gloated.
"Yeah, right along with the smell of money," Alek chastised.
"Yes, but I love my wife more, Butthead." Buzzing Karin, Dru failed to get an answer and sighed as Tony walked in. "Is your wife ever in her office, Savoy?"
"No, she’s generally in your wife’s office, which is where I just left them. They’re gabbing about Paris and Charisse is on her way over. So, fat chance of getting any work out of any of them today."
"Christ, what does a man have to do around here to get a cup of tea?" Dru grumbled.
"Stop whining. It’s right here, so don’t go gettin’ your dick in a knot, Boss," Karin winked, handing him his tea. "Thought I forgot, didn’t ya?"
"Well, yes, I know how you and Pixie are when you’re together."
"Yeah, Jett just told me we’re going shopping in Paris! Isn’t that wonderful, Tony?" she beamed.
"Peachy, dear - just peachy."
"Guys, if you don’t want to go, I’ll understand," Dru advised. "There should be no trouble as I’ll be with Jett constantly."
"Oh, give my ass a break and I can see it now. Mr. and Mrs. Dru Simon shopping in Paris, France, totally unguarded just after finishing their billion-dollar When Stars Collide Tour. Hell, if that doesn’t spell mob-scene I don’t know what does," Alek said, shaking his head.
"Yes, I see your point. Sorry. I guess you two are accompanying us to Paris, but we’ll only be there a few days. Then we’ll come back here for a few more days before I take the little darling on her Disney Cruise," Dru said, rolling his eyes.
"Her what?" Alek questioned.
"If you recall, a cruise was a crucial part of her winning our deal."
"Yeah, so?"
"Well, my wife wants a Disney Cruise so she can have breakfast with Goofy," Dru noted.
"Tell me you’re not serious," Alek said, barely able to believe what he’d heard.
"I’m totally serious. And upon returning from the cruise, Jett gets her ranch time. God, I truly messed up this deal," Dru sighed, rubbing his forehead.
"No, you got fucked!" Alek laughed.
"Breakfast with Goofy," Tony snickered. "This is because Jarrett and Marxx always did, and now you spoil Jett! At least we don’t have to suffer through the Goofy Cruise. Do we?"
"It’s a Disney Cruise where she can have breakfast with Goofy. So no, I won’t force it on you. Hell, she’ll be on a ship, so what could possibly happen?" Dru scoffed.
But Alek and Tony looked at one another before turning to Karin, who looked up to the ceiling. "See anything interesting up there, Mrs. Savoy?" Tony asked, folding his arms.
"Nope, and I totally commend the cleaning crew cause the sucker is spotless. Well, can’t stand here all day listenin’ to you three unwise men so I’ll go see Shorty," she said, backing from the room.
"Any chance I can talk Jett out of the Disney Cruise, Dru?" Alek asked.
"Give it a shot, but I doubt you’ll have much luck," he smiled.
Going up the hall and entering Jett’s office, Fancy yipped to announce Alek’s presence. "Mommy sees him, so lay back down in your little basket, precious," Jett stated, never looking up from her work.
"How’s the finest woman in the world this mornin’?" Alek asked, positioning himself behind her desk chair.
"Fine and dandy. Why?"
"Cause you smell extra special this mornin’, Baby."
"I smell the same as I do every morning, Chase. And no, you’re not talking me out of my cruise."
"Was Karin already in here?" he griped.
"Yep. Once a Jett always a Jett, lover."
"Jett’s forever!" Karin called from the hallway as she walked by.
"Shut up and go file something!" Alek shouted, which made Jett grin.
"Alek, you don’t have to go on the cruise with Dru and me. I’m perfectly capable of having breakfast with Goofy by myself. Fact is, I’m looking forward to it."
"Baby, listen to what you’re sayin’. You’re lookin’ forward to havin’ breakfast with a guy in a goddamn Goofy suit. Don’t you think you’re a little ol…?"
"Watch it," she warned.
"Uh… mature for that sort of thing?"
"Alek, it’s not a guy in a Goofy suit. It’s for really Goofy! Age is a very high price to pay for maturity, so I say screw it… I’m not buying it. I’m having breakfast with Goofy, and so there and take that!"
Standing in silence a moment to think, Alek then slid her raven hair aside to kiss her neck. "Wouldn’t you rather go on a grown-up cruise? Maybe we could get Dru to swap husbands and wives like you always talked about," he whispered in her ear.
"Chase, you’re in my major zone and Dru will never consider swapping. I told you I just should’ve dated Marco cause then it would’ve been a go. But did you listen? Hell, no! You insisted I marry the poop, so now you’ve got to pay the price," she said as he whirled her chair around to face him.
"Jett, I insisted you marry Dru because that’s what Brodie wanted," Alek said, looking into her crystal blue eyes.
"Oh, I see how this works now. You men only follow orders if someone dies. Well, shut my mouth, lay me on a cold hard foyer floor, and call me stupid! What was I thinking? So, basically what you’re saying is if I up and die that’s when you’ll follow my orders?"
"That’s not what I said, dammit! And weren’t we talkin’ about the cruise?" he shouted as Tony and Dru entered.
"Chase, you’re a man and none of the men I know can follow a simple conversation. Now tell me where you got lost, and I’ll fill you in so you can catch up. Oh, and do you want to borrow my Smart Watch, or did you bring your thinking cap thingy?" Jett asked in all seriousness.
"Hurts doesn’t it?" Dru grinned.
"What the hell happened, man? I came here to talk to her about the cruise, and suddenly she’s yappin’ about swappin’, men not followin’ orders, and dyin’!" Alek exclaimed.
"Ooo, that one truly had to hurt," Dru winked then looked at Jett. "Darling, you’ve hurt Alek."
"So?"
"So, apologize," Dru calmly ordered.
"For?"
"For having a whole conversation with him."
"Why?"
"Because it hurts, dammit!"
"How?" Jett questioned and Dru ran his hand over his face as the intercom buzzed. "Hold that thought. I’ll be right back, sweetie. Yes?"
"The Royal Family’s personal secretary is on line one for you, Jett," her secretary advised.
"Bonnie, we don’t have a personal secretary and Lane handles all our press stuff now," Jett advised as the men rolled their eyes.
"No, Mrs. Simon, THE Royal Family. You know, the one in London," Bonnie advised.
"Well, we’re not in London now, so why is Lane calling? Dru, did we leave Lane, Josiah, and little Macie in London?"
"For godsake, she’s talking about the fucking Queen!" Dru yelled.
"Well, I know," Jeff scoffed, "but I’m here in California. So, why is Lane in London?"
"Just give me the damn phone! Bonnie, put the call through, if you would!" Dru screamed into the intercom then looked at his wife. "Now press the blinking button on the blasted phone and talk to the Queen Mother’s personal secretary to find out what he wants!"
" Ohhhh, the Queen Mommy Thingy! Well, hell’s bells, why didn’t you say so?" Jett snorted and tapped the button. "Hello?"
"Mrs. Simon, this is Richard Laurelton. How are you?"
"Okley-dokley, Mr. Laurelton, and you?" she asked as Dru held his head in his hands.
"Quite well, thank you. I have a request from the Royal Family I’d like
