Chapter 1
Jo stood in the middle of a vast plain of grey dust, tears streaming down over her face mask. She was crying because she was standing where Nelson’s column had been, in the middle of Trafalgar square. The grey dust was all that was left of London’s buildings and the people who had died underneath them.
In the distance she could see the Sceriae’s large machines, huge monsters that could suck up whole buildings, turn them to fine rubble and incinerate it, before spewing it out behind as fine grey dust. Acorus had overruled her and the human council, insisting that the only way to prevent disease was by incinerating everything that had human remains mixed up in it. He couldn’t understand the human desire to save old buildings that had been there for centuries, and Jo had fallen out with him many times over what she considered were harsh decisions. He insisted that keeping disease away was more important than the British museum, St. Paul’s cathedral, art galleries, palaces and castles.
New towns had risen quickly on what had been farmland; Salisbury plain was now a large city, with the Sceriae’s prefabricated villa’s laid out in neat rows. The Escorii business’ that had sprung up, sold everything anyone could desire, with humans working alongside the Escorii.
North America, Europe, Russia, Italy, China and Japan were completely free from the Xenorii. The southern hemisphere had pockets of freedom, but some were still in danger of succumbing to the evil aliens. Africa, India and Australia were Xenorii strongholds, with the people there used as blood milkers along with the indigenous animals. Many of the large cats were kept by the Xenorii for amusement, in the way that the Romans had. They had made large settlements underground from local sources, and moved their starships into deep trenches in the ocean, making it very difficult for the Sceriae to find them.
Jo sighed and turned back to her fighter ship where Acorus’s eldest son was calling to her.
“It is time to go Lady Joanna. The human council will be arriving shortly. Father will be angry if we aren’t there to greet them”.
“I’m coming Allorus, mustn’t make the General angry”.
They were still living on Acorus’s ship, as he preferred to be ready for any attack by the Xenorii, who had proved to be more dangerous and resourceful than ever before. They liked Earth, with its beautiful countryside and soft people and were prepared to fight for it.
Hurrying to her quarters, Jo worried about how Acorus had changed. He was very much Lord General Acorus, ruler of Earth, and very rarely laughed or joked with Jo or his soldiers. She understood that he had a great weight on his shoulders, still having to take care of his galaxy, but also responsible for the regeneration of Earth, but she felt as if he was drifting away from her, and didn’t know how to deal with him. He didn’t play or make love to her any more, just using her body for sexual relief, and leaving her feeling unloved.
As she walked into their room Acorus turned to her and said “You’re late. Get changed and come to the council chamber”.
Muttering to herself Jo hurried into the bathroom as Tchu rushed in to help her. “Where have you been, the General is furious?”
“The General is often furious, I hate the way he is now. He’s changed so much”. Jo said as Tchu helped her off with her armour.
“He has many worries and problems with rebuilding Earth. It shows that he still cares for you in the way he is helping your planet”.
“Humph, or is it the power he cares for?” Jo muttered as she climbed into the shower.
Once she was showered and dressed in a smart formal tunic and trousers she piled her hair on top of her head and hurried to the council chamber.
As she entered, the American president, Jackson, was standing shouting at Acorus, who was lounging at ease in his chair at the head of the table.
“Ah, Lady Jo-Anna, here you are at last. Please take your seat”. Acorus stood as all the other men did.
“Please sit down, sorry I’m late,” Jo said softly.
As the men sat down Acorus turned to President Jackson and said “Please continue with your rant!”
Everyone gasped including Jo.
Jackson looked around the table “You see, no respect for our position, destroying our heritage and forcing heads of governments to live like the common people”.
Acorus stood up “I have every respect for the position of President, Premier or Prime minister, just not for the men who use the position for their own aggrandisement. You live in luxury, in secure compounds, guarded by my soldiers. The common people, as you call them, live on estates. The villas you live in are larger because they also house your offices, but your living quarters do not need to be bigger than any other citizens”.
“To live in this way gives no incentive for people to better themselves. The lower classes will just laze about doing nothing if they are treated in the same way as their betters”. Jackson’s voice was rising again.
The German Premier spoke up “The German people have embraced the new order. Our incentive is to rid our planet of the Xenorii and to ensure the future of the human race”.
“Well said”. Came from Britain’s Prime minister as well as the heads of Russia, China, Japan and the heads of the other European countries.
“It seems that the United States are the only ones with a problem, or is it just their leader. Are Americans so weak that the only thing they want is to be better than their fellow man? Maybe an election would bring stronger minds to your government?” Acorus growled.
“You do not say when we have an election”. Jackson shouted.
“No? Strange. I had thought that this council had given me total control of your planet until the Xenorii have been destroyed, or shall we go home and leave you to your own devises? I will leave you to decide, come Jo”. Acorus took her arm and led her from the room.
“That was rude,” she muttered.
“Are you calling me ill mannered Jo-Anna? It wasn’t me who kept the premiers waiting”.
“I’m sorry for that, I was delayed”.
“Delayed weeping tears over old wrecked buildings. Your priorities seem to be at fault!”
“I can’t help it if I have feelings for my world. You used to have feelings too”. Jo cried.
Acorus broke his stride “You think I have no feelings?”
“Yes, you aren’t fun anymore, you fuck me but don’t make love to me, and you are so hard towards everyone!”
Sighing he nodded his head “After all I have done you think that of me?”
“What else can I think? You don’t talk to me, listen to me or love me anymore”. Jo cried.
“Love! I leave my world to save yours, risk my fellow soldiers to save humans and you think me hard and unloving?”
They had reached their quarters and as they entered Acorus pulled her into his arms.
“If you desire softness and indecision, you are with the wrong male. I have told you that I love you and proved it over and over again. If you doubt me then that is in your mind, I haven’t got time to woo and seduce you, when I need physical relief. I thought you understood that. When we talk you criticise the way I am doing things and side with the humans. How do you think I feel? You’re my mate and I will take you when I want”.
“You gave me permission, years ago, to say no when I don’t want you to mate with me, so no, you will not just take me when you want”. Jo said as she went to pull away.
Acorus caught her and grabbing her tunic ripped it off her, then he picked her up and sitting on the bed tore her trousers off. Jo struggled and swore, trying to bite and punch him. As she caught his nose with her fist he pushed her over his knee and held her head down as he smacked her bottom. This time it was not in play but hard and meant to hurt, as he released his tiredness, worry and exasperation. Jo was crying and screaming but he did not let her go. Instead he toppled her onto her front on the bed, pulling her to the edge. With one large hand he held her down and with the other he spread her legs, wedging a knee between them to keep them apart. Removing his trousers he freed his large purple veined shaft. Placing it against her sex he rubbed himself against her until against her will she moistened, then he thrust into her firmly, causing her to scream at the size of him. Remaining still until her body adapted to him, he waited until she started to throb around him. Her body still wanted him even if her brain didn’t and as he moved slowly he felt her responding to him. Her bottom arched up to him and her muscles inside rippled.
As her traitorous body responded to him, Jo continued to cry and swear. Sheer frustratio
