Description

The Story

‘Hello, Swallow Cottage.’
‘Hello there. We’ve stayed with you before; I was wondering if you had a room for tonight?’
Victoria Goodbody just had the one room that she let out for bed and breakfast. Comfortably off, she let it more for fun than anything. Her friends in the village wondered why she bothered.
She recognised the voice. ‘Yes, I do... Is that you, Mr Brown?
‘It is. Nice that you remembered, Ms Goodbody. We’ll be there around nine, if that’s OK?’
‘That’ll be fine. I’ll get it ready for you.’ She replaced the phone with a smile.

Victoria fussed around the room thinking of the Brown’s last stay a month or so ago. The couple had made quite a bit of noise; she’d definitely heard cries of lovemaking from the woman, but never from the man.
The sheets were beautifully fresh and arranged just so.
She remembered that the big oriental chest at the foot of the four-poster bed was something the couple had mentioned favourably in the guest book last time. It was slightly higher that the bed itself. She opened the flat, padded lid and made sure that the extra sheets, pillows and duvet within were still fresh-smelling.
Everything about the room was perfect; she took a lot of pride in the presentation of her guest room. Finally, after some hesitation, she carefully arranged a wall drape to uncover a small gap in the wallpaper that was hardly noticeable in the vertical pattern.
When the doorbell rang, she glanced at the grandfather clock and raised her eyebrows. There they were, at the door – charming Mr Brown and slim and pretty “Mrs Brown.”
‘Sorry we’re earlier than arranged, Ms Goodbody. The pub was a bit dull, so we thought we’d get an early night.’

They’d obviously had a few drinks. They were both smiling, in fact, almost ogling her prominent breasts. ‘Would you like a bite before you go upstairs?’ she asked, innocently.
Mr Brown seemed to hesitate for a moment, glancing again at Victoria’s bust.
