I first met Carson Daly at NBC, and I was only aware of him as the MTV music guy. But as I began working with him more, I saw a deeper side to him, especially in 2017, when he lost both parents within a span of five weeks.

You only live once, but you live every day. You only die once. What I loved most about chef Leah Chase was that she hugged you like your mom would hug you. She did that to me and to everyone she fed at her beloved New Orleans restaurant, Dooky Chase.

I was always thinking about my next question and what I needed for the story, rather than focusing on the answer that was unfolding right in front of me. It took me until I met Kathie Lee to realize that I should get rid of the show topic cards.
