Foreword By Professor Dr Hans Holzer
Philip Solomon and I go way back and I always highly recommend anything he produces. It is always practical, sensible and profes-sional. When Philip and I first connected some years ago, I had him over to America, and to be fair gave him quite a difficult time testing his abilities as a medium, but as soon as he spoke some special words that only others who knew me on the 'other side' could give him, I knew he was a genuine and incredibly gifted medium. He said things he could not have possibly known and therefore I was happy to endorse him and he gained my total respect. This opened up the doors to our long and cherished friendship. He is one of the finest trance and clairvoyant mediums of our time and can be entirely trusted. I am pleased to say he is now doing a lot of work with my daughter, they are going to make a great team and the A-Z of Spiritualism will be a great source of reference for their fans and also a very good source for anyone with an interest in the paranormal, the psychic world generally, Spiritualism and so much more, to quickly reference and have jargon that can be difficult to understand to the layperson, easily and quickly explained.
Foreword By Alexandra Holzer
The first time I learned of Philip Solomon, I was both amazed and intimidated as most people my father (Dr. Hans Holzer) worked with were usually deceased. I read up on Philip and began to wonder if perhaps he and I should connect? Thankfully knowing of Philip throughout my home life and growing up, I was able to v
reconnect and rediscover what my father saw in him. Not only has Philip stayed true to The Holzer Family but has continued his work where a second generation of Holzers can be appreciative and continue to evolve. When Philip asked me to do his foreword I was mixed with all levels of emotions. I knew I had to step up to the plate and posi-tion my paranormal bat for this request. I also knew a few lines just wouldn't cut the mustard. This request comes from an incredible soul for whom I truly believe as my father before me, is to continue to do great things in the field of the Paranormal and beyond. In this ever changing field, we always need inspiration and pos-itiveness to look toward when our souls encounter difficult moments on our life path. The A-Z of Spiritualism book filled with terms and meanings should be a vital part of anyone's library whether they work in this field or not.We are all one at the end of the day and what Philip has created is a universal place to come together and educate oneself for a higher empower-ment in their own life. Knowledge truly is power and here in this well categorized and thought out book will one find such crucial information. This book represents another important piece of literature in the field of science, spiritualism, growth, paranormal education and higher self-awareness.This is a tool and handbook for those who experience or study the paranormal and its methods to those learning for the first time. One can only benefit from such a dictionary in further enhancing their lives and the lives around them, living and deceased.

Introduction By Philip Solomon
From my wide experience of people’s requirements in the ever-expanding interest in Spiritualism, the psychic world and the field of the paranormal, it became my intention to write the book,The A–Z Of Spiritualism Dictionarya dictionary is now required. Such written in simple everyday language covering all the words used in every aspect of psychic philosophy and phenomena. It has become quite clear to me over the last few years the compilation of such a dictionary is greatly needed for the lay person to refer to. Many people email me or write asking for an explanation of terms they are embarrassed to ask about, or find that those who are alleged to have knowledge in the subject are not really capable of explaining the correct meanings. I have always been a professional writer who has striven to express myself in plain, simple terms. Many of the terms and words presently used in Spiritualistic speech and literature need a wider explanation than is given by standard dictionaries.Terms common in the New Age movement in the fields of parapsychology and psychical research are still poorly explained in dictionary format to the layperson enquirer. I would now like to meet the challenge of researching, compiling and writing this book/dictionary for the large number of average men and women in the street who wish to understand an area that has been academically difficult or, at best, clouded in unfathomable jargon for far too long. It seems clear to me that with all the interest today in Spiritualism as a serious religion, alongside the massive interest in mediumship that we have to admit has come to the fore through media mediums such as Derek Acorah, Colin Fry, John Edward, Sylvia Browne and perhaps most important of all, the media medium who brought this work to the masses through TV and theatre tours all over the world, Doris Stokes, people would need a dictionary to explain what some of the words they would vii
come across meant, perhaps in their early visits to a Spiritualist church, reading books and hearing people talk about the subject area. I have tried to put together an A–Z dictionary of many the words and phrases you are likely to come across. Of course it would be quite impossible to list them all. However, you should certainly find words that lead you to the answer to any question that you might come up with. I must also apologise for all the important historical people who have had to be missed out alongside some of the wonderful pioneers of Spiritualism and of course the many modern day mediums and workers for Spirit, some very well-known ones at that, but again unfortunately a book of this size makes it impossible to list everyone. However the mediums and workers I have chosen will give anyone new to Spiritualism a very wide overview of all the different activities that go on and the way that different mediums work. I have also listed for you as many of the Spiritualist churches and other places that you could visit in numerous parts of the world. Again, I apologise for those that have been missed off the list, I thank you for your work too, but again it is impossible to list each and every one. Of course, many organisations regularly change their telephone numbers, even addresses and also have websites and email addresses. It also has to be remembered that various organisations come to an end and others start up all the time. All this additional information can be checked out very easily on a computer that has internet and search engine facilities. I have also included quite a few words that probably fall into the realms of the psychic world, psychology, parapsychology and everyday life. They are important words, phrases and terms, because within the Spiritualist movement they are often spoken of and there are many who will probably ask the question ‘what does that mean?’ Hopefully this A-Z dictionary will now allow you to have understanding without the embarrassment of asking for an explanation of what at times can appear to be extremely academic or complex. This dictionary will explain them to you in a simple, straightforward manner.
