In April and May 1886, the botany course taught by Chatin, Director of the Graduate School of Pharmacy in Paris, was the object of repeated violent attack. The School was closed for three weeks, two students went to prison and a dozen others were subjected to disciplinary action of up to a two-year suspension from all studies. Chatin resigned his post as Director, as well as that of professor. A detailed study of these events and their causes is presented. Der Aufruhr der Pharmaziestudenten in Paris, April-Mai 1886. Im April und Mai 1886 gab die botanische Vorlesung von Chatin, Direktor der Ecole supérieure de Pharmacie de Paris, mehrmals Anlass zu unruhigen Szenen. Die Ecole wurde während drei Wochen geschlossen ; zwei Studenten wurden zu Gefängnisstrafen verurteilt, etwa zehn Andere zu Disziplinarstrafen, welche bis zu zwei Jahren Studienverbot gingen. Chatin trat aus seinen Direktor-und Professorfunktionen.
