About the Publisher
Stirred Up!
I am stirring up your sincere mind.
2 P ETER 3:1
L ord, just as outdoor writers can stir anticipation in me about a new, upcoming hunting season, You know how to get my spiritual juices flowing. You do it through the writers of Your recorded Word, and I thank You for it. Help me understand and never forget the precepts for right living that are found in the Bible. You are a kind Father for loving me enough to inspire my heart. Your timing is always perfect, especially when I need a special boost of faith. I offer my thanks to You in Your Son s holy and exciting name. Amen.
Hearing the Call
I called you but you did not answer.
J EREMIAH 7:13
F ather in heaven, as one who was once so dangerously lost in the deep woods of sin, I offer my sincere thanks to You for calling out to me. Your voice of hope that I heard through Your bold yet compassionate earthly messenger is the sweetest sound I ve ever heard. Words can t express how glad I am that I didn t ignore Your call. They can never adequately describe the joy of being rescued by Your mercy and grace from eternal separation from You. Your loving hands of grace have set me on the path of peace. I never want to be guilty of not answering when You talk to me. I trust that for the rest of my days You will speak to my heart when You see me wandering off the trail of truth. I pray in Christ s name. Amen.
Carry Them Back
Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!
L UKE 15:6
Carry Them Back
Oh, sweet Shepherd, hear me today
Someone I love has wandered away
If anyone can find them, dear Lord, I know it s You
This is my request
O Father, when you do
Carry them back to Your field of forgiveness
Carry them back to Your pastures of grace
Safe on your shoulders cradle them gently
Carry them back, back home I pray
Oh, dear Jesus, how well I recall
When I was that one You carried back home
That s why I ll keep praying
As You search those dark hills
For the one I miss so much
I believe You will carry them back 1
No Other Name
There is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.
A CTS 4:12
J esus I pray that You will enlighten the eyes of my heart so that I will know what is the hope of Your calling, what are the riches of the glory of Your inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of Your power toward all who believe. According to Your Word, these blessings are in accordance with the working of the strength of Your might, which God the Father brought about in You, His Son, when He raised You from the dead and seated You at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. The vastness of the sky above me only hints at how great Your name is. There s no other name through which I can be saved. Worthy are You to be praised for You have done great things! Amen.
Trusting God in All Things
We know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God.
R OMANS 8:28
D ear God, in those times when things have turned out much better for me than I expected, I know it was You who made things work together for my good. You ve proven that You can and will do this for those who love You. I think of young David, who faced the Philistine giant on behalf of You and Your people with a homemade sling. He drew on his consistent practice, his previous experience, and most important, his youthful and zealous love for You as His God. And the outcome was victory. With this encouraging story in mind, my love for You compels me to submit all that I am and all that I have to You. Please use whatever is needed to bring about Your will for my life. In Christ s name I pray. Amen.
Keeping a Listening Ear
The Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.
1 T HESSALONIANS 4:16-17
D ear God, as a hunter I know the disappointment that comes with missing an opportunity for success because I failed to hear a sound that tells me an animal is nearby. Though I feel defeated, regret can never compare to the despair I d feel if I failed for any reason to hear the voice of the archangel and the trumpet that will
