In book two of J O U R N E Y T O F R E E D O M , we are taking a detailed look at the nature of God, the nature of man and the works of Satan, the enemy of our souls.
If we are going to stand strong as believers, it is vital that we have a deep understanding of both the nature and character of God and of how He created us to be in relational fellowship with Him. I have heard many people testify to the fact that their knowledge of God had been so inadequate that they did not really know Him, even though they had been believers for many years. Little by little we will find answers to these fundamental questions, and my hope is that it will happen in such a way that the knowledge will not just be information that is gathered, but it will also create life-transforming revelation.
In his letters, Paul makes sure his readers are fully aware of who God is. He also does not want them to be unaware of who Satan is and how he operates, making it clear that he is not ignorant of Satan’s attempts to undermine the faith of God’s people (see 2 Corinthians 2:11). In Ephesians chapter 6 he gives Christians a detailed lesson in how to resist and overcome the enemy.
I believe that the introduction of book one is relevant to all of the books in this series. In case you are reading this book without having seen book one, I copied much of the introduction in the following paragraphs. But may I encourage you to also read book one to ensure that you have a solid Christian foundation in your life?
