N E W S TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND COMMUNITY AFFAIRS FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Michael Lyttle September 19, 2002 512/475-4542 Gordon Anderson 512/475-4743 TDHCA Schedules 11 Public Hearings to Accept Comment on 2003 QAP, Other Programs (AUSTIN) — The Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) today announced that it will hold a series of 11 public hearings across the state to accept comment on the 2003 proposed Qualified Allocation Plan and Rules (QAP). The QAP contains the rules by which the Department will administer the 2003 Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) Program allocation. Of these 11 hearings, six will also afford citizens an opportunity to provide comment on several other key TDHCA programs and services, including the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) Program, the Community Food & Nutrition Program (CFNP), the 2002 Public Housing Authority Plan, and other TDHCA initiatives. The Department has scheduled hearings for Austin, Clint, Fort Worth, Galveston, Liberty, Mount Pleasant, New Braunfels, Pampa, San Angelo, Weslaco, and Wichita Falls. The hearings are part of TDHCA’s 30-day comment period for the 2003 proposed QAP, which begins September 27, 2002, and continues until 5:00 p.m., October 25, 2002.
