State Audit Update March 2009x





March 19, 2009 Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council: The City has completed all but two of the action items from the Missouri State Auditor’s Report dated December 2007. As you may recall, there were 53 recommendations made by the State Auditor, and these have been addressed as stated on the enclosed State Audit Action Plans report. The improvements made are included in this report as “Action Taken” under each description of the State Auditor’s recommendation. The only two items that require further follow-up action are the recommendations related to the economic development policy on incentives offered to developers and improving the funding status of the Police and Fire Pension Fund. The City is in the process of developing a comprehensive economic development policy, and as you all know, the City continues to explore ways to improve the funding status of the Police and Fire Pension Fund.
