The Criminal Procedure Rule Committee is considering a proposal to revise and simplify the rules in Part 63 of the Criminal Procedure Rules (appeal to the Crown Court against conviction and sentence). The new rules would be in substitution for the present rules. They would apply to the exercise of all rights of appeal in criminal cases from magistrates’ courts to the Crown Court. The Committee would be grateful for the views of those to whom this invitation has been addressed, and for the views of any others whom those consulted may know to have an interest in the proposal. 2.
