Hercule Poirot, ancien inspecteur de police belge, réfugié de guerre, est invité par Hastings à résoudre une enquête bien compliquée, pleine de surprise, mais qui va construire la légende du plus grand détective du monde.

C’est en travaillant dans un dispensaire pendant la Première Guerre mondiale, entourée de poisons, que mon arrière-grand-mère eu pour la première fois l’idée d’écrire un roman policier. Elle n’avait jamais oublié un défi lancé, quelques années plus tôt, par sa sœur aînée Madge qui lui avait dit qu’elle ne serait pas en mesure d’en écrire un, et dès ce moment, la graine fut semée. Agatha a conçu un complot tordu, sélectionné son meurtrier et utilisé sa connaissance intime des

produits pharmaceutiques pour arriver à une mort suffisamment macabre. Mais bien sûr, l’élément le plus significatif du roman n’était pas son histoire ingénieuse ou son utilisation intelligente du poison ; La mystérieuse affaire de Stylesfait découvrir au a monde le célèbre détective belge moustachu Hercule Poirot. 100 ans plus tard, le roman et Monsieur Poirot sont toujours aussi lus et aimés, et je suis ravi que le public découvre l’imagination de mon arrière-grand-mère à travers ce nouvel album.
