Description

New college students face a world of adjustments as they take on the challenge of campus life, and one of the biggest tests is learning to thrive in the midst of monumental life change. Student to Student is a collection of reflections written by students, for students, that takes an honest look at the most common pitfalls and opportunities that life on campus affords. These weekly readings are written by Christian college students from a variety of Christian and secular institutions--more than twenty schools are represented--and each entry opens a window into real-life campus experiences. Readers will instantly identify with the authentic voices of students finding their way through the maze of college life while growing their relationships with God.

A Note from the Compilers
As professors, we sometimes like to think of ourselves as fonts of knowledge from whom you, our eager students, learn things of great importance—but who are we kidding? Deep down we know that is seldom the case. (We were students ourselves once, and we remember!)
College students learn much more about life—about heartbreak and joy, loyalty and faith—from each other than they ever do from us. When it comes to teaching life lessons, our class lectures and PowerPoint presentations will never rival cafeteria debates, post-date recaps or late-night burger runs.
That’s why Student to Student: A Guide to College Life is written by Christian college students from across the country. Here are their collected stories about experiences that have helped shape the adults they are becoming, and about the real everyday challenges, temptations and moments of grace in the world of higher education.
We hope this book will encourage you in the midst of your hectic lives. More importantly, though, we hope these sometimes funny, sometimes poignant stories from your peers will resonate with you and cheer you and remind you what is truly essential in this busy, formative season of your life.
God bless, Paula Miller Paul Buchanan

I have decided that my athletic abilities are a disgrace to my father. When my dad was in his late 30s, he raced in an Ironman triathlon after training nonstop for a year with a former Iron-man champion. The race took 12 hours, and I was tired from just standing and clapping for him all day.
Currently my best efforts at physical fitness involve a morning walk-run. I pride myself in being able to jog up a very steep and strenuous hill in my neigh
