I am so grateful that Shelly Ballestero has stepped out with her message in Beauty by God . The truths found in this book will transform every woman from the inside out. For many years, I have seen the inside of the beauty and fashion industry from all angles—the positive and the negative. Though people saw me and still see me as a “supermodel,” I truly desire to be a “role model” of a healthy lifestyle.
Unfortunately, the negative messages of today’s media have waged a war on the self-esteem of women of all ages. We must begin to stand up and speak the truth: that each woman is created with uniqueness and beauty, inside and out. Shelly, in Beauty by God , takes a stand for this truth, encouraging us to begin with a foundation of inner beauty.
I’ve had a lifelong commitment to athletics, extensive experience in front of the camera, and my own personal encounters with physical trials. These experiences have uniquely informed my understanding of the issues of fitness and women’s health, and have challenged me to offer real solutions to women today. In Shelly’s book, you’ll also find realistic solutions. Her background and education as a licensed esthetician, makeup artist, beauty contributor and herbalist provide the perfect mix to teach us about beauty from the ground up.
