About the Author
Awosanya Yusuff was born in Lagos, Nigeria. He is an Affiliate member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and currently, a CFA (Certified Financial Analyst) candidate. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Bells University of Technology, Nigeria; a Master’s degree in Management and Finance from Birmingham City University, United Kingdom; and he is into the second year of his PhD program in Islamic Finance from University of Bolton. Along with his educational pursuits, he currently represents all research students in the University of Bolton at both the Board of Studies for Research Degrees (BoSRD), and the Research and Knowledge Exchange Committee (RKEC). He is also a student representative on the Senate Committee at the University of Bolton.
Yusuff is also an investment enthusiast who, after previously attempting various businesses, finally incorporated his first company (Daytopia, Nigeria) in 2018. He is a co-founder of small start-ups, like 361 promotions and AfroDine UK; while also being in partnership with other start-ups like Daiz Consulting, Isaac Enterprise and o21 designs. He also loves to trade stocks whenever the opportunity arises.
You’ll be surprised that Awosanya Yusuff is also into a lot of fun stuffs. He has a modelling career registered under Angel Management UK; he plays football for the first team of the University of Bolton; he swims, works out, and hangs out with friends and family whenever he can. Yusuff reads a lot, and he is never shy to display his love for music, movies and games (he claims to be the best dancer in Nigeria).
His involvement in many activities portrays his time management skills as well as his reasonable work-life balance or in his case, a balance between his work, academic pursuit and his lifestyle. This has spurred his ambition to mentor younger and less-experienced students. Thus, stepping up to make a greater impact in the world.

Preface
How often do we tell our stories? How often do we relive our experiences just to produce a new reality? Memoirs don’t just help writers to relive their experiences, they also help other people to live the writer’s experiences, to live in the writer’s story as if they were part of it, to hone the writer’s experiences and make it a part of their new reality.
One special night brought a new perspective into my life. I was just eight years old.
The night was neither too cold nor windy, in fact, there was nothing queer about it to give my eight-year-old self the allusion that something different was about to happen just like in the movies.
This day, I showed up early at the Masjid during Ramadan as usual. I am from a Muslim family that practices and as it is important for Muslims to pray in the Masjid every night during Ramadan (fasting period), we would always go to the Masjid close to the house.
We were running late to join the prayer in the Masjid, my dad hadn’t arrived from work just yet, my mother was still busy cooking and my sister was helping her in the kitchen, so they told me to go ahead and they would join the prayer later since the Masjid was just a stone’s throw. I rushed out of the house and into the Masjid but, to my surprise, I found only three men in the Masjid sitting down. They were waiting for the Imam to arrive to lead the prayer. The mosque was often filled with people but this night was different, only the four of us came, not even the Imam. They were as perplexed as I was, as we all didn’t know the reason behind everyone’s absence. After waiting for another thirty minutes, we decided to get on with the prayer so we could head back home early.
They debated for some time on who to lead the prayer while I just looked on. Suddenly, I noticed them looking at me with smiles on their faces. They had agreed to make me lead them. I was lost, I couldn’t fathom how they decided to choose an eight-year-old to lead in prayer. These three men were certainly in their mid-30s, one might have
