D avid Beckham is known as one of the best football (soccer) players in the world during the past ten years, playing for teams such as AC Milan, Real Madrid, and Manchester United. He also is known as perhaps the most well-known player in Major League Soccer. Read further to learn more about his interesting life.

His Early Years

H e was born on May 2, 1975 in Leyonstone, England, the son of David Edward Alan “Ted” Beckham and Sandra Georgina. He has a younger sister, Joanne Louise and an older sister, Lynne Georgina. He grew up admiring Manchester United, his favorite football team. He always wanted to become a professional soccer player. Luckily, he was quite skilled at it and progressed up the ranks quickly and in 1993, reached the top at the age of 18, playing for the first time with the first team for Manchester United.

A s a child, he would regularly play soccer in Ridgeway Park, Chingford and he attended Chase Lane Primary School and then Chingford County High School. At an interview in 2007, he said he wanted to be a footballer and that was all that he wanted to do.
