About the Author
Ludmila Vengrovskaya, grew up living in Eastern Europe, surrounded by beautiful lakes, rivers and mountains. With a background in Art and Design education, this all helped to develop her imagination and creativity, which inspired Ludmila to become a children’s book writer.
Now living by the lovely seaside in the South of England, she is delighted by the success of her first woodland adventures book called Seven Woodlands Magic Stories , published in 2020. This has guided her to write and publish her second incredible sea adventures children’s book Seven Seas Magic Stories .
Being a keen artist, both books have been illustrated by Ludmila using her own hand drawn pictures.

1 Curious Little Dolphin

These amazing magic sea stories happened a long, long time ago on the Earth’s vast, beautiful and enchanting Seven Seas .
All the seas are filled with salt water, but they are never the same and could be very different from each other! One of the seas could be cold or even icy, the other could be very warm, like the water in the bath at someone’s home. The next sea could be stormy with big scary roaring waves and the other could be quiet with little soft and gentle waves. The seas could have different colours and different names too. The names of the Seven Seas where these amazing magic sea stories happened are –
Coral Sea,
White Sea,
Black Sea,
Red Sea,
Yellow Sea,
Green Sea,
Ice Sea.
It is true, that they are different from each other, but one thing remains the same – all the Seven Seas are full of mystery and enchanting magical stories to tell, hidden in their deep waters…
This charming magic sea story happened in the very warm Coral Sea . In the lagoon with the gentle and soft waves there was a family of dolphins who gave birth to a cute baby dolphin. The transparent waters in the lagoon where the dolphin family lived were especially warm and very clear that morning. It was filled with all shades of blue and turquoise colours.
Soon after baby dolphin was born everyone around somehow knew that he was very special. Just after his birth, the little baby dolphin opened his dark almond-shaped eyes and looked around, with big, big curiosity…
Wow! This is an amazingly beautiful world! was his first thought.
He saw that there were lots of colourful fish of all shapes and sizes swimming nearby, such as,
Yellow fish with blue dots,
Red fish with silver stripes,
Green fish with orange spikey fins…
And lots, lots more other fish…
The beautiful corals were amazing too. They were in all the colours of rainbow. The next thing he saw, were the beams of bright yellow sunlight shining through the water. It shone right above his head and looked brilliantly inviting…
Baby dolphin was curious to find out what could be up there and without any knowledge of life started to swim straight towards the Sun. Upon reaching the surface, he leaped out of the sea and up in the air.
Flip – flip – splash,
Flip – flipp – splash,
Flip – flippp – splash…
He tried to get closer to the shiny wonder in the sky by jumping out of the water into the air, but fell back down every time with a splash. Soon without any success he felt tired, and headed back down to the coral reef to his mum and dad.
‘Hello, baby Flipper! You are a very Curious Little Dolphin! This is what we should call you from now on!’ said his parents laughing.
Flipper was very lively and grew up fast, quickly learning how to swim alongside his older sisters and brothers. They used to chase each other over the big rolling waves of the Coral Sea . This Little Dolphin would normally just be one of the ordinary youngsters, but he wasn’t, all due to him being very, very curious.
One day in the lagoon, lots of jellyfish appeared. They were big and small, with round white heads, frilly skirts and had a few long tentacles underneath them. It was difficult to see through the water, because of their sheer number of them. The jellyfish were pretty and could swim, as if they were dancing underwater.
A pod of young lively dolphins went on their usual swim around the lagoon that morning.
‘Mum! Dad! Can I go for a swim with my friends today, please?’ Flipper asked his parents.
‘Yes, you can go, but be very careful and stay close to your friends. Please stay away from the jellyfish, as they are pretty but could be dangerous too!’ his parents said to Flipper.
‘Thanks, I will! Bye-bye…’
Flipper swiftly joined his friends and followed them for a swim around the lagoon for a while. Soon he had gotten bored and the curiosity took the better of him. One big, pretty, white jellyfish was floating right next to him. She was swimming in dancing like movements with her frilly sides going up and down. She was beautiful and didn’t look dangerous at all. Flipper just had to swim towards her to take a closer look. He started to circle around the jellyfish and got a bit too close to her side. At this moment she got scared, then swiftly extended one of her poisonous tentacles and stung the Dolphin very painfully!
Curious Little Dolphin made a high pitched clicking noise,
K-kkk-h-h-ee,
K-k-k-khhhee,
K-kkk-h-h-eeeee…
And quickly jumped back from the stinging jellyfish.
Now he understood that jellyfish are dangerous and can sting very badly! His parents had tried to warn him, but he didn’t listen.
When the Little Dolphin came to his senses, he realised that his friends had swam ahead and hadn’t seen him stopping behind. Then he was all alone in the unknown parts of the sea. The usual pink, orange and red corals around him looked very different. They were grey and brown instead and the waters were deeper and darker.
Was he lost?
Yes, he was all alone and lost at sea!
But soon the curiosity took over the Curious Little Dolphin and he started to look around him to explore the surroundings and to take a look down at the bottom of the deep Coral Sea . Swiftly he headed down there and started to explore. Very little sunshine could reach that far down, but he noticed something unusually shiny on the side of a big rock covered by seaweed.
What could that be over there? I am curious! thought Flipper.
As he approached closer, he discovered that the big rock was not a rock, but an old and big sunken shipwreck. It was covered with long green seaweed with crabs and urchins crawling in between. These sea creatures used it as their home and as a hiding place.
Curious Little Dolphin went straight to the shiny spot and started to dig out all the long green seaweed that was in his way with his strong snout. At last, the way was clear, to reveal an ancient amphora jug with lots of gold coins inside. They were still very shiny after all this time buried at the bottom of the deep Coral Sea .
I just have to get one shiny gold coin and bring it back home to show everyone! the excited Little Dolphin thought and popped his snout into the jug.
But all of a sudden there were instant big bangs,
B-b-bbb-a-a-aang,
B-b-bbb-a-a-aang,
B-b-bbb-a-a-aanggg!
And suddenly Flipper couldn’t see anything, because of the pitch-black ink cloud that suddenly appeared from nowhere and covered everything around him. He was in that black cloud in total darkness!
‘Hey, you! Yes, I am talking to you, dolphin! Stay away from my treasured gold coins! They are mine and mine only!’ said a grumpy voice from within the black ink cloud.
‘Aww! I am sorry! I didn’t know they were your gold coins. Who are you? Where are you? I can’t see a thing in this black cloud. I was curious to get just one gold coin from this old jug. That’s why my name is Curious Little Dolphin ,’ said scared Flipper with an apologising voice to someone speaking from within the black cloud.
After a short while, the black cloud subsided and Little Dolphin could see an inky Octopus hovering over the amphora to protect his treasure from the invader. That was him who released a cloud of ink earlier to confuse the unwanted intruder. The Octopus was big and purple, with a big aubergine like head and eight long tentacles that had lots of round pink suckers on it covering the amphora jug.
Flipper was amused by this creature and started to swim in circles around it, just to get a better look. Faster and faster, he went with each loop. The Octopus looked at the Dolphin at first and tried to follow him with his round beady eyes, but soon his head started to spin!
‘Stop, stop, stop Curio
